It feels weird not banging gears, but I can't come up with a real argument against having peak torque at any speed.

In theory they sound like a good idea. At least for now, CVTs are generally slower..... WRX for example.

The argument is they drive like absolute shit. They're sluggish and can't launch quickly at all. They're for commuter cars when you don't care about driving. Otherwise, junk.

The Maxima I bought my wife would smoke the tires from a launch, CVT. Was a weird feeling with it at redline from the time you stomped it till you let out though, got rid of it not long after buying.

I don't consider 0-60 in under 6 seconds bad. I think they're ok to drive, it's like riding a continuous wave of 4 banger power.

Nothing will ever convince me they're any good. It's a fuel economy move that ruins the driving experience.

Not sure I follow? The CVT doesn't make the car drive any better. If they tuned it for sports intent, it could be a beast, they were banned from F1 for a reason. But they're tuned for MPG and Nissan is by far the worst at it.

The Honda nav is now done by Garmin and has free update for 5 years. And the DisplayAudio screen has a capacitive touchscreen (only a handful of cars offer it, surprisingly)so I won't miss my 8100 too much.0

I might use their nav instead of Google maps/Android Auto, I've heard a lot of praise about Garmin Nav systems. It will at least be a great backup for being without a signal.

You can also load custom wallpaper on the upper screen. People have been making nice clock/watch faces(an analog clock option).

And the new Honda nearly self driving stuff is cool. Crazy to think you can get it on a 20k Civic if you wish. Honda has undercut some of its competition recently, buy barely raising prices for new models and features, the Civic features list is crazy for the money. Undercuts a mazda3 by like 3k and has a lot more standard options. I have been ignoring the brand for years but now they have my attention.
