2014+ Suspension Lifts

Guys i don't think its an issue with the lift manufacturer, the problem on one of these seems to be corrected after a realignment and then performing a steering angle recentering and recalibration. As soon as the other guy can keep his scheduled appointment we will see if that takes care of his.

Anybody that went with the bigger lift with 35's having any trouble with stabilitrac kickin in when going around turns? I know of 2 local guys, both 2014 silverado's one self install and one shop installed, both zone 6.5 lifts and both are doing the same thing. One of them we recalibrated the steering angle position and that seemed to help, but i have never heard whether or not it fixed it. The other we trield recalibrating the steering angle and its still doing it. Any suggestions. GM and Zone are playing dumb with this issue....

Yes, it's driving me crazy. When I make a left hand turn at an intersection it kicks on. The sharper the turn the worse. The shop that I had my kit installed didn't know. I almost think there is a sensor under the dash or something that can sense the truck is higher and at a slightly different lean around corners. It has to be able to be reset or programmed at the dealer. Bet the High Country models with the 6 inch pro comp for $60k don't have this problem! Edited October 4, 2014 by badchevy

Did the place that aligned your truck reset your steering angle sensor? It HAS to be done when you do an alignment on these new trucks.

I am so torn about lifting my truck. I have brand new 35x12:50x20's on +18 wheels setting in my garage. All I have to do is sell my BDS lift I bought for my 13 then I planned to get a BDS or zone 6" and lift my 14. But after seeing some of the issues people are having. And the fact that I don't want to ruin the ability to use my truck I am seriously considering going with a glorified leveling kit and a smaller tire. I think the truck will look badass on 35's but I also notice the bed is so high when you have that big of a lift that its hard to use the truck. I don't know. I will probly end up doing the 6 and 35's I just hope I don't regret it. I'm sure the issue with the stability system is related to steering angle and can be corrected.

These trucks on a 6 with 35s does look EXTREMELY badass. I would love to do that to mine but don't want to go that high. So in settling for a 4" on 33s or 34s

I bet that is it. I will have to look into that. Can the sensor be reset by the owner, or does it need to be done by a shop with the alignment computer/equipment?

The only way I know to do it is with gm's GDS using a gm MDI scanner. It will definitely have to be done using a scan tool. If the alignment shop didn't have the ability to do so. I'm sure that's ur problem.

Yeah at this point i would be stupid to downsize seeing how i already have the wheels i wanted with the 35's already mounted and waiting. I just don't want any issues. My 13 had a 2 inch level and i though i would be happy with that but i eventually wanted to go big. Thats why i bough all the stuff to lift it. Too bad i didnt wait a month before i bought the lift or i could have bought it for my new truck, lol... Oh well atleast my wheels and tires will work, just need the lift... Coming Soon. Let me know when you get yours fixed,i will feel alot better about it, lol...

Damne that is good looking! Very similar to my current setup. IMO you just need a slightly larger / more agressive tire, but to each his own!

So far I've had no problems with my truck and all is fine. I do understand the bed height issue though as it sucks to get something that in the middle of the bed behind the rear window from the side of the truck. Then again Im 6'3 and the height isn't bad getting in or out as say someone 5' something and I guess the type of person you are. Just like my grandma loves the truck and hops in one handed with high heels and smoking a cig while some of my friends are like wheres a ladder lol on that not though I do find the bumper steps useless lift this high and would rather use the middle of the bumper to step up and I have a size 14 foot and always catch the top of my foot on the step and it hurts like a you know what. still bruised there after a week lol

Yeah I am gonna go for it. No point in going backwards. Glad to hear you are not experiencing any issues! I don't use the bumper steps as it sets so that's not an issue. Pics of your truck posted anywhere?
