Bucket Seats & Console on a Regular Cab?

Recommended Posts

I was looking through the brochure I picked up at the dealer yesterday and it's very thorough about all the options on Crew, Double and Regular Cabs.

If you can't get something on the regular cab it says under the item.... not available on the regular cab.

And there is a option for the Bucket seats and Full length floor console on the LT Z71 and it doesn't say you can't get it on a regular cab.

I would welcome this option...Don't think Chevy has offered this since the 90's.....Any idea if this is accurate ?

I had a 1990 reg cab long box and a 2000 reg cab short box truck that had buckets and a console. I called them my poor mans Corvette!

Check your local salvage yard for future options...has not been offered of late and will have to see this fall but would bet no

It sure would be nice if they offered it as an option. The fold down armrest is probably functional (I've never had one) but I can't stand the aesthetics of it.

Me too !

I had a 90 Short Bed that I felt the same way about, it changes the entire feeling of the truck inside.

It would hard now days to get some at a Salvage yard with all the air bags and everything these seats have now.

I bet you could go aftermarket though....that's what I did on my 07.

Honestly in the new trucks I like it as much for the console as the seats...that new dash just looks better to me when it has the console ran up to it.

Thanks I sure did love it, kept it for 22 years....it took a very special Camaro SS for me to sell it.

Been looking at them myself. My wife thinks we should get the 40/20/40 in case we ever want to haul six. The outer seats are the same as the buckets. Just have the fold down center instead of full console. I would prefer the full console myself also. I was surprized how much storage the fold down set has though.

The 40/20/40 really is a nice seat....you're right that fold down center seat has a lot of storage room....(more than you would think).

How the dash is done on these new trucks with the Radio and A/C in a round opening.....I just like it how it looks better with the floor console....seems to flow better.

The one we drove yesterday had A/C in the bucket seats....wow...talk about nice !

Not sure about your area, but when I checked the several in my area, not one had any vehicles newer than 2003. And these weren't small yards by any means.

What I've heard is any newer totaled vehicles are completely stripped for parts by salvage companies or shipped south of the border where vehicle title laws are a bit more relaxed. ha

All you could really do is buy a truck with the 40/20/40 seats and take the middle jump seat out. They are all separate of each other.......at least they use to be on the old models. Then you would have to buy the console parts separately. That is what would likely stop you...........I am sure they would not sell this as a kit and you would have to buy all the pieces separately. That would cost a fortune...........or what until someone wrecks one and buy it on ebay.
