Was averaging 20 mpg on the highway cruising along at 80-95mph last night. And my calculations have it about .3 off. I haven't taken it on a really long flat trip yet. But setting cruise control, I notice improves mpg's dramatically over my right foot.

My mom's Impreza is off by 3mpg. It's reading 28-29 and getting 25-26.

I used the same station and pump and method 80% of the time. Still off, I blame Dic. ☺

Remember most stations have only 1 STP (submersible turbine pump) per grade. So depending on volume being pumped while you're pumping can change flow rate. Usually it won't change by much but it will vary. You can check both...even I do, but taken it with a grain of salt. It will vary.

Wow that's crusing right along.

Don't tell me that. I've never took the time to hand calc my Legacy but it said I got 32.5 over a 500 mile round trip recenty. I thought that was darn good. Still prefer my Silverado burning thru E85 though.

Very, very satisfied with the MPG of my 6.2L. My daily commute is thru a few small cities/suburbs. Basically there is a stop light every mile, and then also there are 1/2 mile lights and sometimes even 1/4 mile lights :-(

Anyway, I got 2 weeks ago I got 16.4MPG and then last week I got 16.2MPG. That's about over a ~140 total weekly trip. The DIC seems to consistently read .5MPG, so at least I can pretty well guess what I am actually getting. I am very satisfied with 16mpg+ for this truck. Coming from my porky 5.3L avvy that around 13 or so city, this is GREAT!

I got 19.3MPG on a highway commute averaging 75MPH with A/C on, that was with about 300 miles on the truck, and I rolled into the throttle several times on the highway to put some load on the engine. I bet I can probably get 20, but am not expecting much higher than that unless I force myself to do like 70 or 72.

The tires also play a huge role in mpg on trucks. The stock tires are very light and "AT" tires are really no more than street tires. Put on an LT AT tire and you going to lose 10% at least on your gas mileage. I don't do much off roading in my personal truck but I love the look of an AT tire where the tread goes all the way out and doesn't cup in the stockers. I am going to keep my goodyear oem's on mine till they wear out though, too tight to buy a new set of tires just for the look.

I couldn't stand the goodyears sra, so I took them off before I even had 150 miles on my truck. However, I do wonder once and a while what the MPG difference would be between those and the Cooper ATPs I have on there now.

Again, though, I am not complaining. I knew going to a true AT tire would effect MPG.

Man I hear ya on that. I really want some BFG's AT's again, had them on my last truck. At the end of the day, this truck was really expensive and I just need to drive it as is for about a year or so as I refund my money specifically for truck mods. I must admit, I really am enjoying the economy with everything stock, as well as the quietness... Coming from a truck with Flowmaster 40, kn cai, level, BB Tune,,, I'm 23 years old, what's happening to me...

I am pushing 40 but have had a full size chevy truck with some type of flowmaster on it since I was 23. I thought this truck was too quiet so I tried out the Dynomax VT but it just was not the sound I was after. I am starting to like my quiet truck now but still not overly impressed with the gas mileage when comparing it to my old truck or my f150 work truck.

Lifetime over 2100 miles on my 2015 6.2 4x4 is 18.4. I have a 2 mile drive to work otherwise I would bet my lifetime would be over 20 if it were actually able to warm up.

    • On my wife's 2020 Blazer (~69000 miles), we started to notice the brakes pulsating at faster speeds. Typically around town you don't notice anything, but highway/interstate driving you will notice it. I decided to pull of the front tires and look at the brakes. I figured with the milage, the pads should be wearing out to their life span, but they actually looked decent. Still with "meat" on them. One pad has a ridge wearing in it, and that same rotor is showing the ridge too. That's not the concerning part...the other rotor appears to have a raised bump on it!  The picture make it look like a pimple! Very odd and strange! NOTE: These are the factory brakes and rotors.   I'm attaching pictures of the front brakes and what they look like ate ~69000 miles.
    • 2024 Chevrolet 2500 HD Custom 6.6 Gas Canadian built Truck  I tried to search for my previous thread on this topic but cant find it so my apoligies  for starting another one    #1   Since we have owned our truck purchased new it has this strange noise after using the remote start function  you press the remote start and you hear it start but right at the end of it starting it almost seems like it wants to start again after the truck is running .   There is no gap in time it is right at the end of the start . Almost sounds like when you have started a car/truck and its running and then you try and start it again and you get that grinding noise ,sort of     #2  You can only hear this if you are standing outside of the truck and near the truck  you cant hear it when you start the truck from inside  the cab . So it may very well be happening when starting the truck that way as in normally    #3   This only happens when it is started after sitting . For how long I don't know but it happens after sitting overnight for sure and it wont do it if you stop the engine after starting and then start it again  I have had it in to the Dealership before concerning this but they did not have the truck  when it was cold to hear it . Now its back in the Dealership left it overnight so they could possibly hear the problem . They said they tried and nothing happened . Well they did not know what they were listening for . I started the truck remotely and BINGO it makes the noise . Oh that sounds weird they say . We need to look into it ! I have left for this week at the Dealership    Does your 2024 2500 HD gas do this ?  Any of you fellas care to take the time and trouble to film this operation from a cold start  so I can hear what your sound like  Really  would like to know if this is anormal sound  Thank You Fellas !!
    • 2026 Z71.  The other day I was backing a trailer into the barn.  The alarm was going off just because the trailer was in the field of the warning sensors when you get too close to something.  For some reason now the warning alarm doesn't work anymore.  It used to go off when I was just normally backing my truck into garage.  I still have the guidelines in the back up camera.  Is there a button or something to push to turn the sound/Alarm on and off?  I have the touch screen in this truck.  There isn't a "P" on the dash except for the parking brake.  I can't find anything in the touch screen under settings or vehicle.  Thank you in advance.
    • Well one of our most reliable vehicles was sold yesterday. The first and only I gave for free to a grandkid. If they got skin in the game they take care of it. My wife bought new. Five years later my daughter got it to use. We got it back and gave it to our grandson after graduation. He did zero maintenance just oil changes. When the AC quit he drove his mother’s car rather than get it fixed. Instead he just bought a beater and sold the Elantra.
    • I usually do as well or better than the sticker for mileage. Usually better going west than east. North then South. Wind makes a difference. I’m not usually a conspiracy theorist. But it did dawn on me I’m going by the vehicle calculation. Now that would be interesting.
