Fixed mine today with a hose clamp. If I start shitting money then I will eventually get a new muffler and have it deleted at the same time.

Of further note, I have the 6.2 and my dad's 2011 Denali sounds 100x's meaner than this truck. Pathetic.

Do either of you who removed/binded/restricted etc.. the "flapper" open notice the AFM 4 cylinder mode louder/drone now? Especially curious with those with the 6.2L

What Dave said... whats it going to hurt anyway, just put a $2 hose clamp on it for now and see if you like it. If you don't... crawl back underneath it and take 30 seconds to pull it back off. Its hard to go by what people think actually sounds good and the name Justin Bieber pretty much sums that statement up. :banghead:

I would get a 5 or 6" from Home Depot, hell you could lock it down with a 2" clamp just wrapped around the two square heads on the valve end, its just a little harder to hold when you do it but not impossible by any means.

I did the same hose clamp method on my camaro. They put this bs valve on the convertibles. The rattle of it opening and closing sounds like garbage. Problem solved Lways open sounds great

The crappy valve was causing a whistling sound to come out of my exhaust pipe when I pushed on the gas pedal at lower rpm's. Took it to the stealership to get it fixed and they said there was nothing wrong. Pissed me off because the noise reminded me exactly of the commercial where the guys motorcycle sounded like a weed eater. Lolol. Not the sound you wanna hear from a 6.2. Clamped it and now no more whistle.

Clamped mine yesterday....it sounds much better w/ the muffler delete. The truck also feels like it's holding the gears better.

I also pulled 24.4 MPG 22 mile trip last night. The highway mileage on this thing is awesome to be a truck.

I'm assuming you're 5.3? Just took my 6.2 for a 800 mile trip and the best I could average from texas to Louisiana was 19.2 MPG with the cruise set at 75 mph.

Yeah I'm 5.3L w/ 3.42's and that was at 65mph. Seems to be about my sweet spot.

Gotcha.. wish I could achieve that kind of mileage without only being able to drive 60 mph. Lol

    • Atlas,   Then following your logic we can't believe any story that the MSM produces? I mean it's documented they heavily donate to Democrat candidates. Vote Democrat in high percentages. Many MSM talents are married to Democrat politicians, Gov. employees. That goes for on-air and off, personalities and reporters. So they would all be biased and nothing they produce is to be believed in your mind?   Again the article simply was about ways AI can be used for pricing products. Nothing discounted current situations as a factor.    Again keep looking through your left/right lenses. I don't live my life that way.   And as a heads up this thread will be cleaned up again as much of this is off topic and is receiving
    • Yes, and only a couple years before delivery. 🙄
    • So you're saying toss the baby out with the bathwater? @txab posted article was her take on how AI can be used to manipulate pricing as it already does and has been rebuked by the judiciasry in housing. How AI can be and is used to maximize refinery or even Amazon operations all of which are true but because she is who she is; that makes what she says about what is true, false? Is that something akin to Pre-justice aka prejudice?    Look, I'm first in line to approach all information with caution just because we live in a world where people like to lie about someone or something with such a straight face and in such volume that it makes digging to the truth wearisome. Meaning I understand the skepticisms but if I were to toss out everything a person is for a view they hold then my pool of people to draw wisdom from would be non-existent and I'd be forced to reinvent the wheel daily. Not practical.    "Be innocent as a dove but as cautious as a serpent."    Test each word. Every good lie is part truth or no one would believe it. Find the truth in it and reject what isn't.    On this one, AI is being used to do what has been done by hand for hundreds of years already but at such speed, the point of a computer, that it is more easily monetized. This one wasn't that hard a lift.    I wrote a few formulas in a Lotus 123 program decades ago, a series of linked Macros actually, that allowed a daily inventory to be turned into a running P&L and production plan. Something that took three departments a week to assemble now took the time it takes to input the 'daily changes' in inventory. Later that was ungraded to the more powerful Excel program an and integrated with bar code scanning, inventory to supply was done once per shift. It had a huge impact on production scheduling, Seamless interruption flexibility, inventory error reduction, raw materials cost effective utilization and scrap reduction. Huge improvement in the bottom line. I spent months on that and AI could have done it in minutes. So yes, it not only can be used, they would be foolish to not try. The legality, ethics and morality are not the domain of AI. Humans need to keep a reign on it.
    • New to this forum.  Also looking to tune a 6L80 and trying to work out all the issues in my transmission swap.  I have a 6.2 diesel (1983) and have removed the TH-400 and about to put in a 6L80 with a TCM-2600 interface and don't have a clue what I doing after that.  Did you (Leatherneck/RAV3) get your slip resolved? I too hate to spend that kind of money on a tuner that hopefully I will not need too many times although from what steelerdude15 added about the HP Tuner being great for diagnostics would be a plus.  I am also from WNC but below you in Columbus.  Any helo would be greatly appreciated.
