Sounds good, have any of yall tried the rancho quicklift leveling shocks, similar to the bilsteins but it comes fully assembled with coil springs and everything. Bad part is its pretty pricey at $400

and yes it rides awesome. I had RC leveling kit before. Now rides awesome. U get what u pay for

wow... long thread and now I am more confused than ever. I am looking for pics that are running stock 18's. I am looking at either a 2 or 2.25 in level with either 275 70 18 or 285 75 18 ...I only have a 4.3 so really don't want to go much bigger, just looking to level and get a little more clearance for hunting some back woods places. thanks

I'd like to know if anyone has done this also. I'd like to stay around the 2.5" lift mark

 

I have an AT with my Air dam taken off, factory Molded flaps, and my step bars taken off. I've got a pic in the 2014 Pics thread to give you an idea. Its also my Avatar pic

I too would like to change out the stock ranchos with the bilteins. I really dislike the ride after the 2inch RC spacer. I really need to get to around a 2.5 up front. Has anyone left the 2inch spacer on and mounted the bileins on the lowest or 1rst setting?

Fuse36 , do you think you could fit some 275/65/20 with the Ranchos ? Or a 295/55/20 without rub ?

yes 295 55 20 wouldn't be a problem. I believe 275 60 20 would also but not sure on 275 65 20

275 65 20 is 34.07" and 295 55 20 is 32.78" and 275 60 20 is 32.99".

I installed the Rancho Quicklifts today and my wheels and tire should come in tomorrow. I'll be running 18's. We'll see if my combo works?

What size tire? After doing some more searching I might just save up a little more for the Rancho setup. Also, What brand of tire did you get, I am looking at a few, one is the Falken A/T and the other is Cooper ST Maxx.

I'm going to try 285/65-18 Nitto Trails with 0 offset.

I'm going to try 285/65-18 Nitto Trails with 0 offset.

Please keep us posted, I am using the stock rims, I need to find out if the offset will work. I am interested in the 285 setup you are doing and my other choice is 275/70-18

also curious why you didn't go with 285/70-18, its 33in. Do you think there wont be enough room?

thats actually 33.71" so it might rub. That's close

thanks, I should be good with 275/70-18 then, really looking hard at the cooper st maxx, only problem is all the snow we have I couldn't work on my truck for a little while anyways.

I have the 275/70/18 on stock rims. I went with the Hankook Dynapro. So far so good. No rubbing. We got a ton of snow and they have done really well. They look fairly aggressive but not too noisy. I'm pretty happy with them. I did measure my truck after installing the Bilsteins. 38 to front fender and 38.25 to rear. It's damn near level. I'm running lower air pressure right now with the foot of snow we have on the ground. It may come up a little more once I start playing with more air pressure. The tire dealer only put 37 lbs in the tires and I think I'll take them up to 45 and see how it rides once the roads clear up.

    • Question @diyer2 on this line if you please. Are you saying the shudder is the system turning on and off at the frequency of the shudder? Guess I'm asking if you are saying you have seen it do this with the bi-direction scan tool in graph mode? If so have you been able to discern the 'trigger'. Something is telling to cycle rapidly.    My truck just started doing this recently. 197K on the clock. My response has been M5 anything under 55 mph. I treat it like a lugging stick shift. Gear down and let it spin a bit. Engauge M5, then tow mode and then M6 lets the trans stay in 5th but the AFM is active. Smooth like Skippy.    My thought was that as a machine ages the friction gets lower and as the system is load based, the lower friction would allow it to turn on at ever lower rpm until it reaches the lugging point. And yes I am ignorant of any minimum rpm requirement for the system. If you know that would be useful information.    As you know I run a Scan-Gauge II which allows me to watch the On/Off of the signal to the VLOM. While in the shudder mode I'm not seeing is cycle at that frequency or at all for that matter outside the triggers @newdude posted a few years back. Now is it possible that the refresh rate isn't fast enough to catch it? Maybe. It is why I asked my first question about graphing and trigging parameter.     As we have observed from members here the failure point is all over the map miles wise as you note yourself in your opening post. That by itself begs a few questions like fellows that comment on these lifters failing even after the system has been disabled.     • UPDATE 2: Steering wheel control backlights and control of the cluster can supposedly be achieved by adding a wire to pin 20 of the cluster and tapping it to pin 2 of the main clock spring harness. I'm going to give it a shot - will update  
    • GM Global A pickups 2019-2022 can do OTA programming for the radio.  GM VIP (GM Global B) can do OTAs for almost every module on board.  So a 2022.5 and newer pickup can do OTAs for recalls like the 2.7 fuel flow recall.  EVs get OTAs that improve one pedal driving, radio issues, HVAC issues, updated battery management software, etc.     So age of the vehicle/what GM electrical platform its on will alter what amount of updates can be pushed on OTAs.  
    • Thank You.   So far my new ride is making me look like a genius for going with the 3.0L, as my first fuel refill occurred over three weeks from when I took delivery.  This engine combination is very amazing.  So far no issues and had not done a regen yet.
    • I am curious as to how much fluid you put back in the transmission ( assuming you had replaced the filter to compare to my findings ) and then went through the process of warming up the trans before pulling the check plug to drain out the excess and if you measured how much came back out.    I just found it surprising that some claimed a certain amount less fluid being put in and then draining some back out. The attitude of the truck as per if the surface is level and how the trucks stance is would make quite a difference since the check plug is right at the front of the transmission.
