How does one go about finding the regional manager?

I took mine in for a bad passenger seat frame & mentioned the LED issue. I asked them to check a truck built December or later. They agreed the newer trucks do work properly. I showed them printouts others have posted here. They took it to their ASM who said he would not approve it as it is an enhancement on the newer trucks. The service guy I spoke with actually asked me "Would you agree its an enhancement?" I gave him a very firm "No" and explained my understanding of the issue & told him I see it as a Manufacturer defect. He just said "Well I hope you don't hold it against us..." meaning their dealership, as it was the ASM who denied it.

I asked the service guy who I could go to with the issue next. He told me the ASM was it, that he was the final decision. I know there is someone up the chain from him so who do I appeal to next...?

My owners manual that has the extra mylink manual has color pics of the rings working. I showed that to my dealer and said if the manual shows it and it can the same date as my truck it should have them. He agreed.

I just picked up my truck from the dealer yesterday after having it there for 2 days to have the radio / fan control knobs looked at, driver's seat movement, headlights out of whack, and voice command issues. Well, true to form, the service writer told me that the radio / fan control knobs were working as intended. I expressed to them that I have seen other 2014 Silverado LT's where the knobs worked. This prompted her to take me over to the sales department and she asked the sales manager about the backlights. He told me that it is only backlit on the radios with NAV and that I can upgrade my radio to NAV by going through the parts and service departments. So, it would appear that even though GM told me directly that the radio cannot be upgraded, the sales manager at my dealership is telling customers it can, and through GM at that. I was very unhappy with this service visit and could go on as I am sure a lot of you can relate, but I just wanted to inform about the radio. I would like to take this a little further up the chain. I do realize it is "just a backlit knob". But it is just a backlit knob on a rather expensive truck. Between that and the misinformation provided by the dealer, I am rather frustrated.

A few forum members have posted their invoice where their dealership replaced the parts to fix the backlighting under warranty. You should print them out and go back and show them like I did. I can send you my invoice too if you'd like.

I can personally tell you that you do not need navi to get those lights. When you take apart the radio, the screen and knobs are just one unit and the navi is another. When they order the new part, it's radio with knobs that they order. Tell them that every truck that has a 8" screen is the same weather they have navi or not. I wouldn't put up with that if I were you.

Driving a 2014 LT loaner with. No nav. It has the lights as does my LTZ with nav.

My dealer came through for me and got the knobs illuminated !.. Both radio and the center fan button on the HVAC ..

It's still to bad GM hasn't home forward to say this has been a supplier error and instead call it a "running change"

I visited the dealer Saturday morning to provide copies of invoices posted in this thread in order to prove that dealers are in fact fixing the knob lighting issue. However, they are still giving me push back and do not seem interested in even entertaining the idea of fixing the issue. I would like to thank TX14Z71 for personally assisting me in trying to get this fixed.

On a different note, I thought I would share another tid bit. When I originally took my truck in to the dealer to have the know lights looked at, I also complained about my dancing seat. After confirming the issue, they told me that they had to order the seat frame and new motor. Upon ordering the frame and motor, I was told by my service writer that the parts are on back order. They located 2 dealers here in Houston that had 1 each of the parts, but were not willing to sell them. My service writer told me that between the other dealers not selling the parts to them and the fact that they are on back order through GM, that there must be a real issue with the seat moving around in these trucks. (Maybe they should read this forum :dunno: )

Hello nvrnuf4me,

I'm sorry to hear to hear about your concerns regarding the knobs for your radio not illuminating. Although, I can't guarantee cost assistance, I'd be happy to reach out to your dealer. If you'd like my assistance please send me a private message.

I look forward to hearing from you,

I PM'd Andraya R., the GM Customer Care rep who responded to my post stating, and I quote, "I'm sorry to hear to hear about your concerns regarding the knobs for your radio not illuminating. Although, I can't guarantee cost assistance, I'd be happy to reach out to your dealer." Below are the results of that conversation.

I do want to let you know that it has been determined that this is a normal operating characteristic of your vehicle. Being that the vehicle is operating as designed this is not covered under warranty. I will be reaching out to your dealership for this concern, but as I mentioned, I can't guarantee any cost assistance. I look forward to hearing from you.

First, I would like to thank Anraya for taking up my concern and taking the time to offer to open the case.

Second, I believe it is safe to say that for those of you who have been lucky enough to have your LED's fixed by your dealerships under warranty, you are lucky. As noted above, it would appear that the LED backlighting issue (not working) is OPERATING AS DESIGNED and will not be covered under warranty. I am not wanting to give this up, but do not understand the purpose of a 2 year bumper to bumper warranty if I cannot utilize it to have an issue fixed that has already been not only acknowledged by dealerships, but fixed under warranty with the approval of GM.

Kudos to the dealerships willing to stand behind the product that they have sold and fix the LED backlighting issue and shame on the ones who will not.

why don't you just put resistors in them yourselves? I agree they should fix it, but at the same time to me it wouldn't be worth the bickering back and forth with the dealer. Do it yourself and make sure you do everything possible to let the public know that deal isn't willing to stand behind what they sell. Just my .02
