My dealer replaced mine with no questions asked after they saw a new one that was working. I'm posting these so people can show their dealers part #s and proof that others are getting their trucks fixed.

Thanks, Bowtie!

I will mention these numbers to my service adviser and tech to see if it helps them any. Best case scenario would be they order them and have them for when I go to have it "programmed" and that doesn't take.

Thanks for the pics with # Rob.. i'll check with my dealer again...

So even tho another member and I came up with the fix for the lights, remember that I cold soldered mine on. Well that time came when it stop working due to the cold temps were having here in the NE. I took it in and told them my lights stop working and my hvac knob got dim. No questions and they replaced it. Radio cane in today and it's great! Hvac did as well but, something was wrong with the part so they ordered a new one. Bottom seat element also came in which I had them order but, I didn't have enough time to get it replaced today. Maybe next time when the other controls come in.

Did any of you do the resistor fix on the radio controls and leave it that way when the dealer replaced the whole unit?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They won't see it, they don't dig that far into it.

So are there two different part numbers? I thought I read somewhere that it was only one part that needed to be replaced. Please advise.

Two separate part numbers for sure. First is the whole mylink screen with radio controls, and second is the climate control with the power/fan knob ring not working. Two separate pieces.

Stopped by dealership tonight on way home from work and found a truck on the lot that has the working lights. I will take my truck in this morning and have them take a look at that truck and then mine. Hopefully they won't give me any problems. I'm taking the copies of invoice that 20Bowtie provided for us. Wish me luck.

It seems that once the dealer sees one that is working properly, things go much smoother. My dealer saw one working and was like, "We'll get yours fixed, we just have to go through the steps GM gives us". I can deal with that. One thing for sure, if a dealer doesn't do it, you have the part numbers to order them yourselves if you want to pay for it. I think that after the dealers deal with the first one at each, the trucks that come in after that will be much faster for replacement of the modules.

UPDATE: Went by my dealership this morning and talked to the service manager. I showed him my truck and the truck on the lot with the working lights and showed him Bowtie's printout showing the parts that were replaced and that it was done under warranty. Everything seemed fine, he said he would order the parts and call me when they were in. Two hours later he called me and said he spoke to the engineers at GM and they said they were aware of this problem and were going to put out a TSB. They told him the first production trucks had the lights on, then they turned the lights off for some reason, and now they are back on again. The TSB would have the dealerships "flash" the trucks with non-working lights and that would turn them back on so that they wouldn't have to remove the dash or any other components. He couldn't tell me the date of this TSB, but said the GM engineers made it seem like it was coming out real soon. He told me to keep checking back in. Does this sound legit or was I just bamboozled? I thought the current parts had missing resistors? If so, then a flash wouldn't work, or would it?

From the experience from other members on this forum saying it was a hardware issue, I'd be inclined to say that this is a bullcrap answer.

I took my 14 LTZ in today for the first service .. I got a similar answer as TX.. They checked 8 new trucks on the lot and found two that worked., they of course called tech support .. I was also told a bulletin would soon be issued ... The parts are restricted etc ...and that he will call me back next week with some kind of update , they act like they will make it right, but I'm not holding my breath.

It seems like if they " call in" to tech support it just gets dragged down into GM bureaucracy .. Instead of just ordering the parts and doing it on their own.

I'm going to call other dealers next and see if I can just order the parts myself.

I'll wait for a call next week..

They need to make this right
