Oh yes the fan control does work.

My dealer is ordering both parts to make it right. Thet say that the radio control is avaliable, but the fan control has a nationwide backorder.

I seriously doubt GM will send this as a fix to the dealers. I doubt any dealers have a person on staff who specializes in circuit board repairs.

31 years in a dealership. No way GM will have us soldering circuit boards. Maybe we should but it is not up to us. I may do it to my own though.

My parts guy says the part number for the non lighting radio control automatically supersedes to the lighting panel. Parts catalog also notes they may hav to "match" hvac control panel. ie lighted knob.

Maybe you've noticed a defect in your screen? Just sayin.

I wish I had the blue lights,instead of red. But liked the looks of the GMC better.Not sayin the Chevy looks bad.

Option? Wow, did you call him out on that foolishness?

 

My truck seems to be a tad more alert, but not 500 hp worth!

When he pulled the codes there was a code for throttle..he updated it and now the truck responds better and shifts better..like a different engine now..all I know

There is a service campaign for throttle body replacement but only for specific VIN's . Your dealer can tell by running your VIN in the "Global Warranty Management System".

That's good to know. I had all the recalls and updates done earlier in the week, but haven't driven enough to get a good feel of the differences. The throttle response from a standstill seems much better, though. The 500hp comment was meant as a joke because some up here will portray the update responsiveness to getting a supercharger installed.

as far as talking supercharger..I would think the 5.3 might be a better candidate for the blower the the 11.0 compresion compared to the 6.2 with 11.5:)

Went in for the recall service today as well as the rear window regulator. When I checked in I told the service rep that my backlighting on the radio and fan knows was not working so she put it on the list. When the car was done she advised me that the tech said all the lights were working properly. I said they are not and showed her on the brochure in their showroom. She got the tech and we looked at the truck on the showroom floor, lights not working. I told him mine was the top of the line truck so he got keys to the newest delivery they had we walked out to the lot started it up and bam the lights around the radio knobs and fan switch were working. Basically this is a long winded post to say the tech said he will order parts to fix mine so we will have to wait and see what happens.
