Truck was built 06/13, no illumination around the the stereo knobs and

I noticed all the trucks I looked at originally at my dealer didn't have the backlighting around the knobs so I decided wait a couple months to take it in. I took my truck in and the service advisor walked right to a truck that just came in and saw that they were supposed to be lit. He ordered a new control board and it was in the next day and they fixed it no questions asked. I really don't think that owners should be adding resistors.... He then told me than there was a manufacturing shortage on the boards with resistors so they put the ones without them in the trucks to keep them moving off the line..

If you're going to go to the effort of using a font that large, you probably want to use the correct phrase. You've just said that you do in fact care, because you have the ability to care less than you currently do.

Weeks go by and still GM cannot give a official response? I hope GM fixes this issue with the knobs and Im tired of waiting. Seems like GM went 98% of the way with these trucks and another year or two they will be really nice. That is after they fix the bad reception with the radio which is the only issue Im having besides the knobs. Seems that other people are having problems with their seats and vibration which Im sure GM will fix too. Overall I am extremely happy with my truck. Compared to my 2011 and 2013 Silverado's mine rides like a Cadillac and is lightyears ahead in every aspect. Wish I had waited for the 6.2L although my 5.3 has still has tons of power.. I just wish GM would fix these damn illuminated knobs! Here in Alaska it is dark and I really notice it.. OCD kicking in I guess.

Mine does not have it either. I have asked as many others have and get no advice or solution.

Disappointed. I am a luge long Chevy fan and am surprised at the lack of support

9/13 no illumination.. Going to purchase resistors to fix the prob this weekend.

Why fix it yourself? I had mine in the dealer yesterday, they ordered the part, it came in today and fixed it while I waited. It only took 30 minutes. Service advisor told me the radio control and screen were all one piece.

So you took your truck in and they actually fixed it? I've read so many ppl that have tried and the dealer did nothing because GM hasn't released a fix. I've even read that it's a to bad so sad situation and GM will not fix the issue. Only reason why I'm taking it on myself but not if they fixed yours..

I played stupid and told the advisor that "I noticed that the lights were out" We then went over to another truck on the lot and he turned it on, and there they were. So he said he needed to order the part and it was in the next day. I think GM is completely aware of the problems and shipping radios to the dealers before the trucks are sold and/or fixing them before the trucks even leave the lots so more people dont end up like us. The key is to go to a truck that is newest on the lot. No questions asked, he saw that the other truck had them, which was an LT Trim like mine and said "we'll take care of it." I also said every stock photo on Chevys web site has them as well.

I have a appt tomorrow to check this out and I was going to cancel because I figured I was sol. Guess I'll give it a shot my dealer is pretty nice. It really isn't a big deal I just think it'll look much better at night.

Looks a lot better! Plus me knowing that it wasn't right bugged me every time I got in my truck.
