Questions about my new 2014

Took my truck in today for the oil change/tire rotation and recalls/updates. They did the exhaust recall, rear sliding window check, fuel pump recall, AFM update, BCM update. I asked them to look at the LED rings and they looked at some trucks that did not light up, either. We then went on the lot and looked at one built later, and all the knobs lit up as they are advertised. Both the service advisor and tech agreed that mine should as well. They are going to look into this further and let me know. They were glad I made them aware of this issue so they know what is going on if others report it.

I'm thinking of waiting a while till most of the trucks on the lot are the ones with the working lights.

Mine was built 10/16/13 no lights don't really bother me. Not going to loose any sleep over it. This is the best truck I have ever owned. Not knocking anyone who trying to get there's fixed. Just saying I'm not going to worry about it.

Good news! I got my truck back today and they changed the radio control unit and all the lights work. They admitted the problem after finding a truck that was made in Dec/13 and seeing the lights working. Nice warranty repair. Also, the display for the back-up camera is clearer on this unit than the first. Pleased with the repair and clearer display.

Are you saying that they replaced the 8" screen as well? I wonder why they replaced that just to fix the knobs? I thought that the boards that the lights were mounted to were separate.

They replaced the entire control unit which has the screen, knobs and all as a unit. They popped of the trim piece, unhooked the wiring harness and attached the new one. It was a complete unit change.

Quick questions: are all three lights now working, (two radio button plus the fan control) knob? Also, can you please supply the part number of the entire unit that was replaced? Thanks.

Fan control knob didn't work on the Sierra's either. I don't think that was even advertised as working...
