Has anyone seen the HP/TQ curves for these new engines (5.3 and/or 6.2).

Peak numbers are nice but they don't tell whole the story.

Based on the new 5.3L and the LT1 6.2L in the vette, the torque curves for these new engines are insane. Better start stocking up on rear tires.

I'm looking for the curves for the Silverado/Sierra.

The 5.3L curve I posted above is for the Silverado & Sierra. That's GM's official dyno chart for the trucks. There is none available for the 6.2L yet, so the Corvette one is the closest we have.

Interesting numbers! I would expect the torque curve to be similar to the LT1, maybe even flatter for the towing application. I did not see anywhere you would not be able to get the 6.2 with the 3:42 ratio, only that it can tow 12,000 lbs with the 3:73. The next big release is what does the NHT provide for "increased capacity rear springs"? 12,000 lb towing capacity is useless without some substantial payload increase. Please bring out th C6G option (7600lb GVW) that was leaked in the March distribution update!

I had just planned to forgo the 3.42 ratio in my next truck and just get the 6.2L with the 3.73 anyhow. That was my single regret with my current 6.2L. The 3.4's are nice, but I'm really not concerned about the gas mileage. I just want to smoke the tires whenever possible, haha.

Definitely getting a new truck in a couple of years.
With that much power, just thinking how much better it will drive once you get a tune for it.

I can't wait to drive one of these. Hope they run good on fuel with 10% deathonal.

Only change I've ever seen from E10 to pure gas is a small improvement in MPG. No reason E10 will cause issues.

Gotcha. Misread the first chart. Thanks for posting it.

Amazing the Vette has over 300lbft @ 1000 rpms with an NA motor. I would think the torque curve on the truck motor will be even flatter and come in earlier.

I agree, the cam must be set up for a flatter torque curve as the heads are the same as the vettes.

Plus the trucks always get a unique intake manifold to help shift the power down the rpm band.

Yep, longer intake runners.

So... you can get it with the "max tow pkg", but only in high-end trim? Do folks really buy $50k "half tons" to tow heavy stuff?

Out here we do have a lot of retirees with new trucks hauling around a travel trailer or a camper, or just nothing at all. The Ford Platinum is seen every day and it sells like hotcakes, mainly to the older generation with some money to spare. So yes, there is a market for these very expensive trucks. Too bad that it does affect the lower end of the spectrum who would like an LS with a 6.2.
