Tow Mirrors

Hi. Sorry been so busy. Yes, on my 2014 1500 the connector on cab side has all the pins. Just door side connector was missing only 4 pins that cab side had. I found some pins at work that are exactly like the door side so I put them in the missing spots then spliced the correct signal and puddle into mirror. Pin 41 is signal and pin 3 is puddle but only 2 wires that I have no idea where they go are pin 13 and 26. Only puddle light still doesn't work but that must be due to bcm needing programmed. So to get puddle to work I followed the Puddle light wire into bcm. Grey connector#7 pin 8 and removed the the wire from connector and then spiced it into the courtesy light wire on junction box. Now puddle lights come on whenever I open door or unlock door. Now power fold doesn't work yet but I'm working on it. The wires are already there from what I see but doesn't work because I didn't have the switch. But I ordered the switch and it fits perfectly in the bezel but the connector is different so my door harness won't plug into it. So, this is where I need the Pin lay out for switch so I could match the wires to it. I modified the connector to plug in the switch but it's a no go cause it keeps blowing fuse when I do that.

Thanks Jusplayn for your wealth of knowledge! It sounds like all of us putting tow mirrors on can have the signals work after all! The dealer will be installing mine today or tomorrow! I will be handing them Jusplayn instructions and we will see how I come out. You would think a dealer could handle it! Will post my results after I get them back!

Do the High Country tow mirrors auto fold?

I believe YES. Actually, it depends on the definition of AUTO, only because there's another thread agruing over power/auto. They do fold when you push a button to do so, but they are manual extend I believe.

You are right, Power Fold, Manual Extend

That would be dumb if they have Power Fold, but you gotta go outside to extend your mirror..

Wish they have these like the Ford:

Or you can roll your window down, power fold them in, manually extend them out, and then power unfold them. No need to get out. Though it would be nice if they were fully powered.

this is the one thing I really liked about my 2012 ford super duty...power fold , extend, heat, signal blah blah blah, why is this so annoying to make happen on a gmc?? are u listening gmc?

Yea what about the Passenger side?.. you still have to get out to extend it or climb over the passenger seat.. .. LOL

I don't mind the manual extend. You have to get out to hitch up the trailer anyhow...

I am confused. What part numbers are the Tow mirrors that power fold? Are they only available on the High Country? I currently have the power folding stock mirrors (D3 i think is the code) and would like to swap out with power folding tow mirrors.

Exactly, no need to have them extended with no trailer.

I am hooked on the New GM Towing Mirrors. I have notified two dealers waiting to hear from them, I've asked them for the part number availability and pricing, let's see if we can all pull together and get some information on these awesome mirrors.
