just a update for all dealer installed the mirrors they work great as for signals the dealer just had to order a special wire loom..they installed today and everything is working great! I would assume the loom ordered is just off of the 1500's with turn signal mirrors I could get the part number if people are interested.

as for now I have tow mirrors on my 14 lt Silverado 1500 with working turn signals! I was stoked to see the signals working!

Would you happen to have the part number for the replacement wiring harness?

Thanks...

Spoke with the dealer today they gave me an update on the new style trailer mirrors. They should be released in the third quarter.

I read somewhere that the towing mirrors from a 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD are the same style, mounting and harness as the 2014's. Can anyone else comfirm this for me please?

They're the same as the 2500 '14s, not the 1500 '14s and 2500 '15s. In other words they won't fit your truck.

So the 2500's and the 1500's all have completely different mirrors.

The 14 2500 is the same as the 07-13 2500/3500 models. The 2014 1500 and 2015 2500/3500 are the new body styles

Has anyone been able to find out the part number for the new wiring harness for the doors to enable the turn signal function? I would really appreciate any help on this. Do you need two different ones (left and right) or is it two of the same harness, one for each door?

Did the dealer install this with anything from GM? I have been told that the 1500's aren't equipped to have the towing mirrors installed without the additional support? I really need these mirrors but don't seem to be available for the my Sierra.

My factory regular mirrors suck for backing a boat down a launch. I think they leave a pretty big blind spot when I'm on the highway as well. Looks like I'll be ordering a set of towing mirrors and wiring harness as soon as I get a chance.

The only difference is a 4th mounting hole. Other members have drilled it out with success. Read through this thread and see.

I have read the posts and I know people have been drilling the 4th hole and it may be that simple but GM has a bullentin out there stating that the door is not strong enough to handle the camping style tow mirrors without the additional support. I don't understand why GM would make the door not be able to handle it but none the less they did. The door may or may not be able to handle it and I don't know either. You stated the dealer installed the mirrors and was just wondering if the dealer installed any other support or did they just drill the 4th hole and install the mirrors?

I believe, if you read through this thread, that someone found out all the part numbers for the doors are the same. Therefore, the only difference is the hole that needs drilled.
