I just order the ones from eBay with no turn signal cus regardless my WT doesn't have turn signals on the mirror lol.

I did the same. Blinkers and power fold would be nice. Just not sure it's worth spending the extra time and money on it.

 

FedEx tracking says they will arrive today. Hopefully have the time to put them on over the weekend.

Just saw that in the ad too. Are they the same 3 as the non-tow mirrors? Maybe these were designed to specifically not have the 4th bolt to remove the need to drill for a fourth. Not sure how that'll play in stability and shake issues. Have you tried putting them on yet?

Just got the Longview slip on towing mirrors from eTrailer.com in today.

 

They're exactly what I needed, other than the unfortunate phoenix molded into the front. They'll only be on while towing so I can live with that though.

I've got these too. Pita to get aligned properly but once done they help a lot.

I stopped by the dealership and got a copy and all the juicy details of said PI1255A. It doesn't even give you the oportunity to add mirrors with only power and heat. They are wanting you to change out the mirrors, both wireharness'es and install new switch for all vehicles currently without signals. The parts for all that from the dealer are a whopping $1151.04 plus tax and labor to have all that installed. Quite pricey if you ask me. There is not any added support to the door just the forth hole drilled.

 

How does GM go from stating DO NOT INSTALL WITHOUT REINFORCEMENT because the door is not supported, to drill a hole and install no problem?

How much are just the wire harnesses? and do you have the part number for them on the bulletin?

Got them on today.

 

Was a little nervous about doing this. I'm pretty much "mechanically-challenged" when it comes to things like this.

 

But reading the post from 155, I decided to give it a try.

 

My plan was to take different pics along the way, to possibly help anyone else looking to do this. But I just couldn't. 155's pics and detailed description on how to do the swap was dead on. Follow his instructions and anyone can do this. P&P worked perfectly. Haven't done a road test yet to check for vibration or any possible whistling noises. But gave them a good shake and they are on there very sturdy. Not having the 4th bolt didn't seem to matter at all.

 

My truck is finally starting to look like a REAL truck now. Next project, making it SOUND like a real truck.

The part numbers for the required items according to the bulletin are for the mirrors with Turn Signals in them. Here are the part numbers for a new switch and wire harness if you don't have the correct pins in the plugs upon inspection. The new code if you go to the dealership is DPN. These are all dealership part numbers and costs. You can find them cheaper.

 

Mirror - 22820397 $422.25

Mirror - 22820398 $422.25

Switch - 22754405 $52.25

Driver and Passenger Door Harnesses - 23130306 $122.60

- 23130322 $131.69

Mike does the bulletin say that the mirrors will power fold after the harness and switch are installed? If your going to a power fold mirror rather than a tow mirror obviously at this point. Or does it require a reprogram as well? Thanks!

That's not the part number for powerfold. That's the part number for the regular tow mirrors with the blinker, heat, and power.

 

The powerfold are not available for sale yet.

      Here's the second UOA on my 22 Wrangler with the Ecodiesel. This has 5k miles on AMSOIL Signature Series DEO 5w-40. The first one was dealer installed oil, no clue what it was, the second is what AMSOIL recommended, European FS 5w-40, Most of the Ecodiesel world is showing great results using the European MS 5w-40, I figured I would see how the DEO works. This is using an Ecoguard oil filter. It's my understanding this engine likes to shed aluminum.  We will see. So far I don't think this is too bad.

      I'm surprised nobody seems to offer a solution like the start/stop device I put in my new truck. Remembers my setting when shutdown. And while it still starts up in start/stop, it stores/evaluates what mode it was in when shut down and will change it whithin a second or 2 of startup. It'd be nice to have something like that for the DRLs.

      2015 Sierra 1500 here. Leaks from the sunroof to front driver side and soaks carpet. How do I fix this? Thanks!

      I will be doing that for sure, but I need to solve who has/ where I can find a bidirectional scan tool that will support OBD 1.5. I'm kicking myself because I ebay'ed a Snap On MT2500 that I didn't think I'd ever need anymore. D'oh!! I'd rather not buy another, so I'll contact a few local shops to see if they have one and how much they'd want to do the procedure. I'd rather have the ability to do it myself... I wish there was a modern tool that could do it all, but I'd have no idea what to buy.   The theory with the pulled timing is that it mimics a rich condition. The delayed spark causes incomplete burn and the O2 sensor picks up low oxygen levels. That's interpreted as a rich condition so the PCM pulls fuel and that shows up in the deeply negative fuel trims.
