that's what i like to hear. i wanted a crew cab short box lt 4x4 with all star or convenience pkg. those trucks are listed locally at around $43,500(all star msrp before anything taken off), and $41,600(convenience). after you take the offers, rebates, and all that off, that comes to around $35,500(all star) and $36,000(convenience). not to mention chevy apparently is advertising $3250 off all stars, and the normal $750 option and supplier discount.. yet the websites don't show that price yet. it's a steal to get an all star vs. convenience because they are the same truck.. except the 18' wheels, trailering package and differential.

all i really need is these trucks to come down just a couple more thousand/get a really good trade in price and i'll be set. and seeing 10k off msrp(regardless if it's OTD or before ttl, etc) is pretty good.

I got 8k below sticker on my 2014 sierra 1500 all terrain sle 5.3

..4k from dealer & 4k from incentives

Posted

I just purchased a 2014 GMC 1500 double cab SLE, Sonoma Red with the 5.3 V8, Z71, convenience package, brake controller, mats, bed liner, value package, 18" tires, and heated seats.

The sticker price was 44,525, and I added step bars and an assist handle to that for 725.

The actual sale price was 42,257 including the additional 725.

I had 6852 in rebate dollars (cash rebate, conquest, and 1602 from my GM card)

So the actual cost to me before tax and tags was 35,405

there's a silverado with OTD pricing supposedly online at $36,995. wv tax is %5, title and tag are $40 together. dealer fees are probably 305ish, i'm guessing. might go for a good look later. says "online price plus ttl and dealer fees". so i'm guessing it means OTD.

msrp: 43,560

-750 all star discount.

"special value price"(probably supplier pricing) -2815.

-2000 customer cash

-1000 package cash.

it looks like IF the OTD price is $36,995, -40 title and tag, - %5 tax, the actual price of the truck with the dealer fees included is $35,195. however, i think i can press them to get at least 250 more off thanks to the '3250+750' all star ad on the websites. i should also be able to use my farm bureau -500. and that's not even negotiating anything. i want the bed protection package and 4' chrome step added in so we'll see.

I hope your right, but just looking at the numbers, I think it's pretty clear that the advertised price does NOT include any taxes. I've never seen a dealer advertise new car prices that included taxes. Why would they? Also keep in mind that the cash incentives are taken off after taxes are figured/added.

On that truck you'll be paying taxes on nearly $40,000, so tax will amount to about $2000.

MSRP $43,560

-$750 All Star discount

-$2815 sale/supplier discount

$39995 = vehicle price (This is the amount you will pay taxes on)

+$2000 taxes at 5%

$41995

-$3000 Incentives (these are taken off after taxes, not before)

$38995 final vehicle price (If you take the $2000 in taxes back out, you are back to the $36,995 price)

+$305 fees

+$40 tags

$39340 TRUE OTD PRICE

If you think you can get them to drop the price another $250 and get them to give you an additional $500 incentive for farm bureau membership, then you'd be looking at an OTD price of around $38,600. This doesn't take into account any of your wanted extras though.

Let us know how it goes if you do decide to offer them $34,500 for this truck.

i would have thought that too, but the disclaimer is brand new.. i've been checking on this truck for several days. it now has a 'dealership special' under the sale price. it's one of the trucks that was marked up $1500, and i've seen other all stars listed online locally at $35,400. they're fools if they think that just because these rebates/incentives take money off the truck that no one can negotiate down from that. they're getting the money right back from GM on most, if not all of the incentives.

here is the quote from the disclaimer, regardless of what it means, it's confusing.
DISCLAIMER: All prices are plus tax, title, license, and dealer documentation fees. Internet pricing includes all applicable manufacturer's rebates and incentives.

That is pretty much a standard disclaimer for dealers. It clearly states you'll be paying the advertised price plus tax, title, license, and doc fees.

Are you sure the dealer is giving you all the rebates on this truck? $3000 seems low. There was $3900 in rebates on my truck back in February. Seems counter intuitive that the rebates on these trucks would be getting smaller as the model years marches on....

well you were correct, sir. i know 99.9% of the time, taxes aren't included. but that disclaimer being brand new, along with the fact that it's the first time i've ever seen it worded "prices are plus ttl, fees, etc" made me think they included it. they emailed me back saying the out the door price was 38,570. which isn't counting my trade in, farm bureau, or price matching other dealers.

edit-he just emailed me this. i'm not exactly sure when the trade in is/should be taken off the price.. but i was more sure that the tax of the new truck would be minus trade in of old one. anyway..

The Trade In is new car minus old car. Then whatever your payoff is will be put back on top of the difference. You will pay taxes on the difference not the MSRP. The Price before all the offers and rebates is 43,560. Then the Breakdown will look like this.

39995 Sales Price
- 3000 Crew Cab Supplier Rebate
36995
+ 1850 TAX
38845
+ 225 Document Fee
39070
- 500 Demo Discount
38570 Sale Price

Then we would take your Trade In off the 38570. Then whatever you owe on the vehicle will go back on top of the difference.

This is a demo truck too? How many miles are on it? $500 off doesn't seem like it would be enough to convince me to buy a used truck with 5000+ miles on it already. Then again, maybe it doesn't have that many miles on it..

Posted

apparently so, and i have no idea. i'm okay with 500 off as long as it's under a couple hundred miles.. but once 4 figures are on the odometer, that discount better be more. there's another truck locally listed at $35,879, but it's white and with $430 worth of options included. however, that truck doesn't have the $1500 markup that chevy gave their cars. the black one i'm interested does.

Around here, a dealership isn't allowed to discount a vehicle as a demo unit, until it has 5000+ miles on it. I would assume this is similar across the country. If they are selling that truck as a demo unit, I would be willing to bet it has several thousand miles on it minimum.

This would also make sense as to why this truck didn't see the $1500 price increase. This truck was probably built well before the increase went into effect, but it has been being driven back and forth to the dealership everyday for the last 6 months or so...

Could some of you that have gotten 10k off MSRP please post the dealerships you bought from?

I live in Dallas and none of my dealers are offering anywhere near that kind of discount. I don't mind traveling for the right deal.

Thanks in advance!

I bought my 2014 SLT CC 4WD (hard-loaded: sunroof, warnings, cooled seats) for 42500 OTD, sticker 52170.00 at Covert GMC in Austin. Ask for Josh.

I called him and the best he is willing to offer on a '14 SLT with $51k MSRP is $45617 + TTL. Pretty much in line what I'm getting offered up here.

Guess I got to keep looking until a great deal pops up.

    • Just did an injector/HPFP replacement on Pepper at 192,400 miles; close enough to 200K, RIGHT? (If 200K is considered life end and to me it isn't). But hey, to each his own.    Have never run a catch can on this vehicle. Back side of every valve looked like a new valve spray painted semigloss black. Port walls looked 'neat' (all a normal result of passive EGR via VVT) Zero build up even in AFM cylinders. Just color. It uses no measurable oil and never has.    At 155,000 I put her on E-85 and a borescope of the cylinders at plug change showed very clean pistons and valve faces. The replaced injector tips looked new. (It was the pump piston seal that was leaking). Oh well, have six good backups.    Still gets 28 mpg on gas (highway average) and over 20 (highway) on alky. UOA's look good and runs as good now as it did when I bought it. Better in fact.    What improvement would a Catch Can provide this motor?     And given all this I expect that IF I installed one I'd see some water/gas/oil vapor accumulation. Byproducts of normal combustion.   Having said that, IF my motor used an appreciable amount of oil I'd consider it a useful 'crutch' until I had the situation corrected OR if bore polished, until I junked it or rebuilt it to stave off repeated plug fouling.    I'm not telling you what I THINK. But what its DONE.
    • Love the look. I'm a SCSB lover myself.    Two items. 1.) A spacer changes scrub radius but this also changes when we use wheels of different offsets. A little isn't a big deal. 2.) Steel wheels, alloy wheels all have different thickness. Same effect on the stud and lug nut as a spacer. When hub centric the wheel isn't supported by the stud. It's supported by the hub. The stud just keeps it all together.
    • I had a evap sol go bad a couple weeks ago. . I replaced it.  While watching live data at the time I saw I had some cylinder 1 misfires. No MIL but on live data I could see ~50 at startup and about 70 more after an hour a drive all on cyl 1.  I also noticed that the LTFT were -5% to -15% always.  And that bank 2 is always -3% richer than bank 1. Even across all driving modes, city, highway, etc it’s always 3% richer than bank 1. So I start with the misfire. Swapped coil, plug, and plug wires from 1 to 3. No follow. I got an Injector reseal kit, pulled the D/s injector rail, swapped #1 and #3 injectors, resealed them, reinstalled and retested.  The misfire followed to 3. So I ordered and replaced all 8 injectors, spark plugs, and plug wires. Also replaced the 1 time use fuel pipes under the intake manifold.  Injectors that were in the truck since new were  Part # 12668390.  I replaced them with # 12742701 Got from RockAuto. Pretty certain they’re genuine and the correct ones. I called a friend at a parts store who told me “the 12742701 were the correct superseded part # for the originals I was replacing”. So started truck after replacing all that and it’s running -15 - -30 LTFTs. I reset the fuel trims with GDS2 and drove it for a 60 miles trip each way. There have been no changes in the LTFTs.  I checked if the HPFP was leaking into the crankcase. I removed the pvc and watched the trims. No difference.  I checked the alcohol content and it was at 10%  I’m out of ideas here. Truck seems to run great. Just always rich on the fuel trims.  Anyone with any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.  I ran an injector balance test just for the heck of it and it came back this. I’m confused.  I have gds2 and some other diag tools if anyone knows of anything I should test next.
