I think it's still an option, it's just included in just about every package they make, and probably an included option on those without a package. No real reason to not want it on these trucks, if you had a special need you probably are planning on gutting the diff anyways.

It is standard on my SLT (I looked at the sticker), but not sure if it is on SLE or WT.

I was at the dealer today. I've been going back and forth on ordering vs buying off the lot. I almost bought one, I'm still deciding if not being exactly what I want is worth the savings. Here's what they offered:

2014 Regular Cab Standard Box 5.3l LT with Convenience Pkg and Trailering Pkg

MSRP $41 575. with 13% tax that's at least $46 979, plus any dealer fees.

They offered $42 300 Out the door, taxes everything. That's after 750 Loyalty bonus 750 recent graduate discount. With the 0% financing that's pretty good deal I think. I told her 40 even I'd buy it on the spot. Said no way she'd do that so I left.

Only things are that its got the 3.08 axle, I want the 3.42 in case I decide to put bigger tires. And I kinda want a 2015, then I can get the 8" mylink, and order it with a telescoping steering column. And hopefully they've fixed a lot of the first-year problems. I don't wan't a vibrating truck.

I've got at least till the end of August to get the 0% financing so I'll think it over for a bit. Thoughts?

Is supplier pricing different than wholesale price? What's a fair amount to get off of supplier price? I was offered supplier pricing plus any incentives that I'm eligible for? Supplier pricing was right around $47k

Sticker was 43.5k, got it for 35.6k +tax and tag. Tax was ~$1500 after trade and tag was around $200, only 6.25% tax on vehicles in my area. Truck was only sitting on the lot for a few days before I picked it up. Got 2.9% apr too :)

Just got a price on another one. SLT with everything but sunroof and rear sliding window for $45657 OTD. Includes 6% tax and all the other crap. Have employee pricing from my Uncles plus all the other rebates they have right now.

That's not competitive enough. I think it's really noncompetitive, really. Try a bigger dealer.

Yeah, I forgot to mention the 2000 bonus from gm as well. So the dealer is really only coming down about a grand. At this point I'm thinking I'm going to order a 2015, so they'll have to come way down for me to get this one.

that much for a sticker on a regular cab is a bit too high. my sticker was $41,615ish for a crew cab LT short box, with convenience and trailering. it was a pre-markup truck.. but still. i got the -2758 supplier, -2000 rebate, and -500 farm bureau discount with bed liner threw in for no charge. your regular cab truck should cost less than my crew cab with the same packages, even if it has a bigger motor.

Just picked mine up, Sierra 1500 SLT 4x4 Z71 (with Z71 20" Chrome Wheels), Tow Package, With SLT Plus package (Bose audio, Navi, bed lighting, running boards etc,.) Sticker was $49975, got it for 45k OTD (including all taxes, registration, fee's etc.) Taxes here in Southern CA, are ridiculous at 9%! Not to mention truck registration tags are like $500. So i figure it was about 9k off sticker price. Best part was I got 20k for my used truck (which was hardest negotiating part as it had nearly 100k miles and was almost 7 years old! Not mention 2 years free maintenance, that GMC is offering. Now is a great time to get good deals before the 2015's come in!

Oh and final touch was lifetime car washes! I'll be swinging by every week on my way to work :P

    • Common Sense Assembly   Your driveline is forgiving of the occasional mistake. It will even often forgive the random serious blunder. But it will not forgive a continuous bad habit.      What? Not everything needs to be a five thousand word essay.
    • We drove about 15 minute east today to visit a friend and saw a steep increase in price in the same county. About 50 cents a gallon steepper.
    • Sure about that? A degree wheel and a dial indicator would lower your degree of assurance in that statement. 😉    It why we have offset keys and dialable timing sprockets. Just say'n.... I've built a few and have never seen one "On the money".
    • I will admit I haven't experimented much with pressure drops beyond the numbers I put in and part of that is that the numbers I used are fairly low and then found out it would trigger regardless at that 35 psi. Having said that I had tried before had changed the placard pressures and being that I have a 1 ton set to 80 on the placard for the rear I believe it triggered close to 60, the front I don't recall now for sure but thought maybe it could get close to 45 from that factory 60 placard pressure. So I never did figure out if it was a number of psi from placard pressure to the alarm or a percentage of the total placard number as some figured it was like a 25% drop from placard pressure would trigger it. So as to try and answer your question, I believe I set the placard pressure on the front to 47 or so and while I run the front tires at 40, they have dipped below that some if its colder and I haven't put "winter air" in yet and never once have had the front alarm go off. I would say that the answer your looking for is no, that if you set your placard pressure to 45, you have a certain amount of room to drop below that pressure before the alarm will go off.    The pressures you decide to run in your truck, that ends up being what makes sense to you based on what your carrying in your truck or if towing, then have to bump them back up to something that will carry the load in the rear and the fronts typically left at the same pressure. It all comes down to that chart I put the link to and using an accurate roadside scale to be your guide, both unloaded and then loaded to know your minimum safe pressures.    I just wish GM would allow a person to change the readings for the tire pressures to the English system of pounds as I have to look at that goofy metric reading that will never ever jive in my head and will go over and change it just to figure out what they are if need be and then change it back.
    • That part I understand, that the dealer can do it. But I'm not understanding why updates that were available to the truck since it left the factory, or the dealership originally, would not still be available to it without dealer intervention.   I'm thinking along the lines of recalls. They stay available until they are completed, regardless of whether they are in warranty or not, or in the hands of the original owner or not. Why not updates as well, especially since some of those can be safety related also?
