He got just under 11K off, I did that in Dec. Should be easy now. 40 to 29k for a Texas package before ttl.

How exactly was the $41,928 price established?

As that price is neither the supplier price, nor the employee price on that truck....?

To be honest, Im not sure. I didn't ask "how" they came up with the $41,298 amount because I really didn't care... Heh.

I know that when I tried to get a lower price.. They weren't budging, despite my threats to walk.

Good for you, IF TRUE, but I'm not sure I'm buying it without further proof. $11K off MSRP without an employee GMS code, after just 10 minutes of emailing and no haggling seems pretty far fetched to me....

Not this time of the year, Ford is doing 15K. The Houston paper has Texas packages down to 26K.

That is on Fords that are at the end of their model life, not comparable to a new Chevy/GMC that was just redesigned for 2014.

And I'm pretty sure he is talking about an AT 4wd CC, which you're not getting for $26K.

I was using as an example, I paid 29K for the Texas package from 40K now the are down to 26K. Ford was 12 to 15k off last year. I almost bought one till I went on their forums and read about the problems with the EB.

The bigger discounts seem to be on the mid to lower level trucks like the SLE and WT. I'm not having an easy time getting to $9,000-$10,00 off any of the SLT I have inquired about. I'm probably picky about what I want and I'm not going to settle with something I'll be driving for the next 8-10 years.

If your one of the few that can do that, keep them for 8-10 years, Id buy a Denali and not worry to much about saving one or two thousand. Im an idiot I trade ever 2 years so I go for the discounts. Now their coming out with an 8 speed, damit.

Correct, the higher up you go in trim level, the lower the factory incentives. The same goes with body style. The double cabs carry higher incentives than the crew cabs. 2WD carries higher incentives than 4WD. V6 carries higher incentives than V8.

So if you want a lower trimmed bench seat double cab that is V6 and 2WD, then yes, maybe you can get one for $12K off MSRP as KARNUT suggests, but if you are looking for a well equipped V8, 4WD Crew Cab, then you aren't seeing $12K off without an GMS employee pricing and a lot of leg work pitting dealer vs dealer, and even then $12K off MSRP is going to be a stretch.

I guess markets vary. I couldn't get any local dealers to go any lower from the advertised factory incentives and supplier pricing. But at nearly $8k off I got in August for my SLE AT Crew cab, it was still a good price and comparable to the discounts I got on my F150's in past years (09 and 04). I am aware of a Ford dealer that offers nearly $12k off on their F150's, but when I inquired one time about buying one, they totally lowballed me on my trade in (guess they have to make there money somehow).

So here is the link to a truck that I am currently looking at.. Just wanting to get everyone's thoughts in the price.. I am trading in my 2010 GMC Sierra Ext cab.. They are giving right around 15k for mine and I owe 12661.00 on it.. I am hoping that I can get them down a little bit more.. Hopefully to like 26-27k plus they pay TTL... I am like 8 hours away from them so I am working. This deal over the phone...

Bought a loaded SLE 4wd August 7th with more options then I was looking for but got better incentives compared to a SLT. Watched the incentives for September and didn't see much change. Maybe next month will be better for the SLT's, question will be is the one you want still there.

In the end MSRP 49.6k and got just over 8k off. Walked in and I knew what I wanted at the end of the day. Fleet manager came out of his office to see what he could do. Seven minutes later I had a price and just about closed right then and there. Just had to run some more numbers and sleep on it. Bought it and chose not to wait for a better incentive deals as the '15's roll out. Figured it was the end of '14 inventory to get the white diamond color and a few options I know I wanted, otherwise it would be another year of waiting.

just so you know, those are standard prices and you can get that anywhere, just look at the same deal at a nearby dealer to me: http://www.bestchevrolet.com/VehicleDetails/new-2014-Chevrolet-Silverado_1500-Crew_Cab_Short_Box_2_Wheel_Drive_LT_w%2F1LT-Kenner-LA/2312667063

I don't know you but since you are not my enemy and I want to give you advice I would give to anyone I know.....

I must caution you to not give up your 2010 and wait for the 2016's because 1 in 5 of these 2014 trucks and most likely the same case for the 2015's has vibration issues. some start right away and some start after getting a few thousand miles on them but the odds are not worth risking getting a lemon.

you have a perfectly good 2010 truck and you are giving it away for free, that's right free. all they are doing is taking the remaining notes from you and you already paid all that money so they can take it off your hands for free and make a killing selling your old truck to someone else who bought one of these lemon vibrators and raking in thousands in profit.

I cant in good conscience suggest anyone buy any of the 2014 or 2015's at this point until and when the vibration issue has been resolved and it is no longer a reported problem because in some cases you get a buy back and in some cases you are told to get out and you are SOL stuck with a defective truck that makes you carsick to drive it.

The Denali is just a bit over the top for me. I've kept my past two cars for about seven years each. I'd probably keep my current one, but it has gotten a bit small with ten month old twins. So,the wife and I both agreed that I could use a new pickup. Who am I to say no to that logic when it comes from my wife?

Thanks for the advice, I have been really thinking about exactly what you said above... It's funny before I read what you posted I had already called the dealership and told them that I changed my mind... Thanks again.

    • Very interesting thread. Definitely didn’t expect to see this kind of mileage out of that engine.
    • Just did an injector/HPFP replacement on Pepper at 192,400 miles; close enough to 200K, RIGHT? (If 200K is considered life end and to me it isn't). But hey, to each his own.    Have never run a catch can on this vehicle. Back side of every valve looked like a new valve spray painted semigloss black. Port walls looked 'neat' (all a normal result of passive EGR via VVT) Zero build up even in AFM cylinders. Just color. It uses no measurable oil and never has.    At 155,000 I put her on E-85 and a borescope of the cylinders at plug change showed very clean pistons and valve faces. The replaced injector tips looked new. (It was the pump piston seal that was leaking). Oh well, have six good backups.    Still gets 28 mpg on gas (highway average) and over 20 (highway) on alky. UOA's look good and runs as good now as it did when I bought it. Better in fact.    What improvement would a Catch Can provide this motor?     And given all this I expect that IF I installed one I'd see some water/gas/oil vapor accumulation. Byproducts of normal combustion.   Having said that, IF my motor used an appreciable amount of oil I'd consider it a useful 'crutch' until I had the situation corrected OR if bore polished, until I junked it or rebuilt it to stave off repeated plug fouling.    I'm not telling you what I THINK. But what its DONE.
    • Love the look. I'm a SCSB lover myself.    Two items. 1.) A spacer changes scrub radius but this also changes when we use wheels of different offsets. A little isn't a big deal. 2.) Steel wheels, alloy wheels all have different thickness. Same effect on the stud and lug nut as a spacer. When hub centric the wheel isn't supported by the stud. It's supported by the hub. The stud just keeps it all together.
    • I had a evap sol go bad a couple weeks ago. . I replaced it.  While watching live data at the time I saw I had some cylinder 1 misfires. No MIL but on live data I could see ~50 at startup and about 70 more after an hour a drive all on cyl 1.  I also noticed that the LTFT were -5% to -15% always.  And that bank 2 is always -3% richer than bank 1. Even across all driving modes, city, highway, etc it’s always 3% richer than bank 1. So I start with the misfire. Swapped coil, plug, and plug wires from 1 to 3. No follow. I got an Injector reseal kit, pulled the D/s injector rail, swapped #1 and #3 injectors, resealed them, reinstalled and retested.  The misfire followed to 3. So I ordered and replaced all 8 injectors, spark plugs, and plug wires. Also replaced the 1 time use fuel pipes under the intake manifold.  Injectors that were in the truck since new were  Part # 12668390.  I replaced them with # 12742701 Got from RockAuto. Pretty certain they’re genuine and the correct ones. I called a friend at a parts store who told me “the 12742701 were the correct superseded part # for the originals I was replacing”. So started truck after replacing all that and it’s running -15 - -30 LTFTs. I reset the fuel trims with GDS2 and drove it for a 60 miles trip each way. There have been no changes in the LTFTs.  I checked if the HPFP was leaking into the crankcase. I removed the pvc and watched the trims. No difference.  I checked the alcohol content and it was at 10%  I’m out of ideas here. Truck seems to run great. Just always rich on the fuel trims.  Anyone with any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.  I ran an injector balance test just for the heck of it and it came back this. I’m confused.  I have gds2 and some other diag tools if anyone knows of anything I should test next.
