Speaking specifically to Sierra Denali, have incentives changed or decreased from August... I have a dealership trying to rescind a deal they offered that month due to specials.

i would think "no longer offering" is more appropriate than "rescind". just sayin'.....

2014 Silverado LTZ Crew Cab, it has all the bells and whistles besides rear DVD. MSRP was $53k, with instant rebates and other offers the final price was $44K.

Check out Laura Buick GMC

Hi guys, new member. Really appreciate this thread.

I'm shopping for my first new Silverado and started with the email route to put some feelers out there to dealers. I'm right in the center of MO, so Kansas City, St. Louis over in to IL are all equidistant from me pretty much, so they are all doable. I've already encountered "You won't get a better price. If you want a deal, you had better call me before Tuesday" BS. Some of them auto-reply with "Sometimes we don't get all your info electronically, so I'll call you to follow up." No you won't because I gave you 555-4444 as my phone number. I'm almost overwhelmed by the number of dealerships I need to cover. One dealer has my phone number which was given to him by a co-worker and he's already annoying me.

I'm looking for a:

2014 Silverado 1500 LT w/ 1LT and All Star Package

Crew Cab w/ short bed

4WD

5.3

Ideally in Silver or Tungsten

MSRP I'm seeing on these is in the $44-45k range. Without trying too hard, I'm getting prices around $38k with current rebates and incentives. Last month (a week ago) I got a couple emails saying around the $35k range. Of course this included incentives I likely don't qualify for and doesn't include their hidden closing fees.

My dad's last two trucks have been new LT Silverados and with All Star Package discount, incentives and $1500 GM points (which I will have as well) he usually does really well on price. His 2011 was MSRP $39k and he paid $30k and they shipped the truck from another dealership. Similar discount on his last truck before that. Always buys between September and December generally.

Based on that I'm really hoping I'd be able to get these $44k trucks down in to the lower $30s. I know it is going to be a balance of finding the truck in stock likely, watching incentives and hopefully working dealers off one another.

Any tips for me based on this info? Am I living in a Silverado pipe dream expecting to get that low? I'm really not in a huge hurry to buy, but it is definitely new truck time for me before long.

Thanks for the input guys. I knew about the massive recalls but hadn't heard about the road noise issue and vibration issues. Going to do a little more research and keep my eyes peeled for a deal! I actually just found a deal this morning and am now shopping it against the local dealer.

I started contacting dealers about a Sierra SLT. I had one who insisted that $1,750 below MSRP was the best he could do. I thanked him for his time. and moved on. I haven't gotten to that magical $10-$12k off yet. I've gotten that on initial offers on a 2014 F150 FX4, but that is is.

That 2014 Ford being a lame duck will have bigger discounts.

I bought a 2013 Sierra SLE in Feb 2013 and got 10K + off that one. It was just before the 2014's debuted.

I would expect bigger discounts from the Ford as that is common sense. But I did expect something closer to $8k off a GMC as an initial offer, especially considering the 2015 models are hitting the lots. The $1,750 of MSRP was just plain insulting.

Call or email Covert in Bastrop. They will do way better than that. My SLT MSRP was 52150.00 and I financed 45000 total. I did have a 30K trade which helped on the tax, but I think I got a good deal from them.

jaysen, that's pretty good, I just checked my local dealers and they are also around $8300 off around here right now. I bought my SLE All Terrain last month and got $7920 off. They wouldn't budge anymore off the advertised price (with rebates/incentives). So I fought to get an extra $500 for my trade instead.

Just picked up my first truck ever yesterday, a Silverado LTZ! Sticker was $50 900, but with employee pricing, 4000 credit, and a 750 trade in bonus, it came down to just over $41 000, + good old Canadian tax.

Working with a dealer on a Sierra sle crew 4wd at around $11k off the $44k msrp. 2 hours away so trying to work details via email so obviously I'm taking lower priority than in store customers. Working on a trade estimate. Must admit, all this vibration research I've been doing isn't helping.

Has anybody seen the 20% off MSRP deal on Facebook from a Chevy dealer. I wasn't able to confirm it is on all model trucks with a salesman but the add stated all models.

No, but the prices I'm seeing advertised locally at several dealerships are more than 20% off MSRP.

I'm still struggling to see more than $7,000 off a 2014 $51,000 SLT. I was hoping to buy this weekend, but I may have to drag it out until next weekend. There is one truck I really like and if I could get a few more grand off if it, it would be in my driveway.

    • My truck is a ¾ ton but my placard also says 80 for the rear tires, I think I might have the upgraded suspension to the 3500 series maybe.   I put my air down to 60 and the light was still on, and there was no way I was putting over 60 psi in the rear empty and not towing because I knew the actual number Toyo gave me and I didn't wanna ruin the center of my tires!   And you actually can change it in the settings from metric or is and it will show kph or mph then when you go into your tire settings it will be either psi or kpa, but it would be nice to just change it directly on the tire psi page
    • Common Sense Assembly   Your driveline is forgiving of the occasional mistake. It will even often forgive the random serious blunder. But it will not forgive a continuous bad habit.      What? Not everything needs to be a five thousand word essay.
    • We drove about 15 minute east today to visit a friend and saw a steep increase in price in the same county. About 50 cents a gallon steepper.
    • Sure about that? A degree wheel and a dial indicator would lower your degree of assurance in that statement. 😉    It why we have offset keys and dialable timing sprockets. Just say'n.... I've built a few and have never seen one "On the money".
    • I will admit I haven't experimented much with pressure drops beyond the numbers I put in and part of that is that the numbers I used are fairly low and then found out it would trigger regardless at that 35 psi. Having said that I had tried before had changed the placard pressures and being that I have a 1 ton set to 80 on the placard for the rear I believe it triggered close to 60, the front I don't recall now for sure but thought maybe it could get close to 45 from that factory 60 placard pressure. So I never did figure out if it was a number of psi from placard pressure to the alarm or a percentage of the total placard number as some figured it was like a 25% drop from placard pressure would trigger it. So as to try and answer your question, I believe I set the placard pressure on the front to 47 or so and while I run the front tires at 40, they have dipped below that some if its colder and I haven't put "winter air" in yet and never once have had the front alarm go off. I would say that the answer your looking for is no, that if you set your placard pressure to 45, you have a certain amount of room to drop below that pressure before the alarm will go off.    The pressures you decide to run in your truck, that ends up being what makes sense to you based on what your carrying in your truck or if towing, then have to bump them back up to something that will carry the load in the rear and the fronts typically left at the same pressure. It all comes down to that chart I put the link to and using an accurate roadside scale to be your guide, both unloaded and then loaded to know your minimum safe pressures.    I just wish GM would allow a person to change the readings for the tire pressures to the English system of pounds as I have to look at that goofy metric reading that will never ever jive in my head and will go over and change it just to figure out what they are if need be and then change it back.
