ok, so i just bought my first house 2 months ago. Still have boxes in the garage (ugh!) but one day soon i will have weeded through all of them. The floor is just bare concrete. I am wanting to coat it with some sort of textured coating, Ucoat-it or something along those lines. Anyone here used a product similiar to that before? How do you like it? Is it easy to clean? Durable? Price?

Any feedback is helpful!

Thanks!

I had a topic sometime ago. I used the professional rustoleum. My recommendation is to also clear coat it

I have also used the rustoleum and it works well. It was easy to do and looked good. Clearcoating it is a good idea.

Sure,

it actually is pretty cheap to do, I would say it will probably raise the value too

Great looking garage Ryan! How do you keep your floor free from cracks?

I also have used the Rustoleum garage floor covering...

I find that after 4 years, it should be touched up. We have such variance in temperature here, combined with street salts/gravel for winter that the paint begins to chip away in certain areas.

The paint looks awesome and helps to keep dust down in your garage, It also sweeps and cleans up very nicely.

I have had to re-do a few spots due to chips or tires pulling it up (my wifes van did it when it was brand new must have been sticky tires).

I have the rustoleum professional on mine. It is much thicker than the regular version. I also clear coated over mine. Luckily the concrete was only a few yrs old and very clean when I started

Epoxy will wear the longest but prep is very important! I like to use a concrete stain like H&C. The floor still needs to be clean, if the concrete is extra slick it might need an acid wash. A concrete stain will wear off but won't peel like epoxy [if the prep isn't perfect] What I like about H&C stains is they are xylene based and when it come time to recoat, you just clean and apply when dry. The fresh stain melts and bonds to the old stain. H&C stains do have a strong odor
