How old are you?

under 30 = Silverado

over 30 = Sierra

hahaha

I'm over 30 but I'm leaning more and more towards the Silverado.

WHERE DOES THAT LEAVE ME???

The All Terrain looks great. But color match and switch the awful rims and they High Country would too. But I'm not in the market for a K2 and probably never will be.

I'm not too concerned about power for hauling as I know the 5.3L would do an excellent job. I'm in the same position as Derodeo...I don't need the power but I'd like to have it, and I can afford the difference. I'd rather have a bigger engine doing less work than a smaller one working harder.

No replacement for displacement ;)

I can honestly say that the 6.2 in the hc (dealer press model) that I drove last week wasn't all that faster then the 5.3 in my mind. It also had 1700kms on it so it was broken in. The exhuast note is noticeably different and has more bark and tone/rumble though. You could tell it had some more power but not as much as you would think, I was really surprised with it's lack of bottom end that the last 6.2 had, but again it might of just been how smooth these new trucks really are. You don't really feel the acceleration in these trucks now until you look down at your speedo and actually watch the needle climb.

I'm 24 and just bought a Sierra haha.

And I'm 50 and just bought a Silverado. So much for that theory. :dunno:

I think the new trucks have even more restriction than the 900's but definitely much smoother.

Some simple bolt ons will bring the beast out of that 6.2!

I chose Sierra because I liked the front end better and they were more commonly available with the integrated brake controller and LED lights in the bed. And I'm over 50.

Lol. Old men do like Fords...or GMs that look like them.

My opinion...GMC had the better looks from 1967-2007. They tied during the GMT-900 years, but now Chevy has the more "truck" look. GMC is a little more softer this time around, especially on the 2015 HD trucks. I'd take a Chevy over GMC on the K2XX years.

Agreed that just about any HD truck is going to tow a heavy load way better than the half ton with a 6.2 and maximum tow package. I've hauled a 9000lb trailer with my 3/4 ton (rated at only 8800lbs) and with a F-150 maximum tow (rated around 11K I believe) and it's a heck of more comforting trip in my truck.

I'm sold on the Denali (apparently it doesn't have the plastic wood trim ;-) but haven't decided on the 6.2L or the standard 5.3L. I don't actually need the bigger engine, just would enjoy the power and I can afford it. But it would have to run most of the time on 87 octane fuel (farm fuel) and I don't know how happy it would be on that. Maybe octane booster would be an option.

Are you saying that the new 6.2L requires premium fuel?

I've said that the new Sierra was an F250 or F350 in a slight disguise since it first arrived. I think the stupid looking LED's that GMC is putting on everything done without any thought. I like LED's but I just think it was way overdone on these as well as the Acadia. The one single projector looks too small on the large front end and large headlight housing. If a single tastefully arraged LED row of lights were placed along with another headlamp bulb similar to the previuos gen Sierra, then it would look better. This F-150 looking single projector and grill front bumper cobination just doesn't look as classic or rugged as the traditional double row lamp look of the Silverado. My .02

Of course it requires premium! It is even in the owners manual. I just don't see that much power on 87 octane without detonation evene with major timing retarding. My old Ram Hemi required mid grade, but I used regular and it never ran as good as it did when I would use the higher octane.
