250motorsportz Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Hey guys, Trading in my Escalade EXT as I ordered a '14 Sierra All-Terrain Crew Cab, full load w/6.2L in White Diamond however I'm having second thoughts now and thinking maybe Silverado High Country?? The interior on the HC is awesome but the Sierra has great exterior styling. The dealer has a Silverado HC 6.2L WDT on order as well and I have the option to choose when they arrive.
AgDoctor Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 If the AT had cooled seats and available 3.73 rear end with the 6.2 then it would be perfect. Probably my next truck but still. The HC has some ugly wheels and the interior color is a little too western for my tastes. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk now Free
2014 Sporty Shorty Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 If you still want the 6.2 with all the options you can either get the denali or the slt and add all the options. I personally think the front of the chevy is a little out there but I love the new sierra front with the leds and projectors.
250motorsportz Posted October 14, 2013 Author Posted October 14, 2013 I was just doing some messing around on GIMP...I'm not a pro as you can see. But overall, I think I'm leaning towards the AT more as I'm not a fan of the Chev front ends. My buddy's AT just came in this week - black w/5.3L!
crushNchowda Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 The Sierra looks better period, and the rims on the AT are the best on ANY truck IMO. The interior on the HC is nice as you mentioned, but I'm all set w/ that Chevy front end. The 5.3 w/ 3.42's is PLENTY for me, I don't see why anyone would "need" a 6.2 equipped truck w/ a 3.73 rear end? Worried about towing? At that point just move up to an HD truck already, the MPG's will be horrific w/ that combo FWIW, like probably 14 avg mixed driving
2014 Sporty Shorty Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Yeah I second the 2500hd if your that worried about towing. Even a 2500 with the 6.0 would tow a lot better than a 1500, there just set up up for it. They feel a lot more stable with a good load behind them, plus you get the bigger breaks and the 4.10 rear end.
oldmann Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 The HC would do it for me. I love a great interior.
250motorsportz Posted October 14, 2013 Author Posted October 14, 2013 The A/T it is for me! I want the 6.2 simply for the power. Stepping down from a EXT to a 5.3L would be a major downgrade for me. I do haul a boat and trailer in spring/summer/fall months so the 6.2 is definitely going to be nice - and it's not going to be much more $ than the 5.3L for me.

I hear you, but the difference from the 2014 5.3 direct injected motor vs. the old 6.2 isn't as great as you'd think. The 5.3 w/ 3.42 is rated at 9,600 lbs towing and I think it's 11,000 w/ the 3.73s The money isn't too much difference unless you're going Denali, which in the new trucks is utterly pointless IMO because as you've already found out you can get a fully optioned SLT/all terrain model w/ the 6.2 only thing you're missing is numerous Denali badges, a different grill (although the AT grille is unique also), and a bigger screen in the gauges....if I wanted the 6.2 I'd do the same as you
manley Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 I'm just not in love with the Sierras. I'm old school enough that I still like all the chrome on the Silverado, I guess?

j-ten-ner Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 This is probably why ouch! I grow more and more on the Silverado. If someone asked me which one looks more like a truck I would say that the Silverado is more credible. What did my daughter just say? The Sierra looks like a "Barbie" truck. Girls... so long j-ten-ner

How old are you? under 30 = Silverado over 30 = Sierra hahaha
