How do you like the 5000k color HID's? I'm running 4500K in my truck and LED fog lights but the fogs seem to have a slight tinge of blue to them. Thinking about swapping bulbs to 5000k, but how do they compare to the stock LED strips color wise?

Looks good without boards too.. I've been debating pulling mine off since I got the truck.

I really like the 5K. When they first start up the light output is quite blue, but once it warms up its a really nice white with a faint blue hue. Compared to the strips, I would say they are not as white as the LED's. I'll do my best to take a pic with my DSLR and try to capture the light output for you.

The valence trim looks perfect. I might just try this myself...and considering the cost to replace is roughly $100, it's not too bad of a hit if I mess up!

Now lets get to some serious business...take those running boards off already! :)

Looks really good, might have to try that with mine this spring! I'm just wondering where you decided to make the cut line.

Updated pics, looks better to me. I just used a sharpie and traced the crease that's already there and cut exactly along the line and just rounded the corners the same on both sides. I tried a couple different methods to cut with and found a JigSaw to be the easiest/quickest way. I filed any high spots down and cleaned up the edges after with an Xacto knife. Looks fine from 5' away, haha.

What's with all the Edmonton fellas and their black trucks, lol!

I swore to never go back to black after owning a black Lexus...my last truck was silver and was super easy to maintain...but damn the new Sierra's look good in black!

Dangerdick, you've got a serious rig there man. I love what you've done to it!

I feel ya brother, I was in Farley's getting some work done and there was nothing but black Denalis getting work done. Edmonton is the cities of black GMs

I'm usually in and out of Farley's once a week... I move most of Wheaton's vehicles for them on my days off from my real job.

Greg does all of there "custom truck's" ... and yah, a quick glance through the parking lot or even on there Facebook page is littered with lifted black Chevy's haha.

I also installed LED headlights/fog lights but haven't been able to take a picture where it actually depicts the correct color and brightness of them. I'm still working on that but love the output and color of them!

Just plasti-dipped that whole inner grille? I like but IMO I'd want something more permanent than that. Great looking though!

Thanks, it is just plasti-dip and I do agree but in my experience it is just about as permanent as you want it to be. I've had it on a vehicle for a year and a half without it ever looking any different than the day I applied it.

Here's my 2014 LT.

Tints, flowmaster super 40 duals, blacked out bowties, Cooper a/t tires in 265/70r17.

Plans are to put bilstein 5100's on to level, possibly a tune, and the red/black rally style grill. Maybe new wheels after she's payed off.
