Creaking sound when cold

Why, are saying that water is the problem? WD-40: water dispersing-40th attempt. Was never intended as a lubicant.

Works great at dispersing contaminants that sometimes get in the leaf packs and cause noise. It's an old off-roaders trick.

Mine is not a 2014 but it also creaks on cold mornings, as does my dads 2006 Silverado. Nothing out of this world, especially in cold weather.

Lots of trucks on here have that noise. Most are from the shackles or the shocks. Mine did the same thing. Only when cold and only for a little while until warmed up. I could jump on my back bumper in the morning and duplicate the sound. So i took my rear shocks off and tried jumping on my truck the next morning when cold and thir was no noise. I could depress the shocks and they would make a squeak the first couple of times. So I know my noise is the shocks. Some people have had the dealer install new shocks and the noise went away. I'm going to wait for more after market shocks to become available and install those. I think the Rancho shocks on my truck have way to fast of a rebound and causes more of a stiff ride. I could depress the shocks and would fully rebound in less then 5 seconds. Which is very fast for a shock.

I have this issue also, and no, mine is not normal. The last 7 gm trucks I owned didn't have this problem.

Got a call from my dealer today that my truck is ready. It has been at the dealer 2 days for recall, vibration, on star has never worked, creaking sound when cold, and seat.

They told me the tech lubed the splines, and that it was the slip yoke. I haven't heard that one yet.

When I had a 2008 it would feel like someone bumped you from the rear when just stopped.

I supposed to pick it up tomorrow.

Both my '07, and my '13 made the sound you describe in cold weather, while going over bumps, even slowly. This one doesn't yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if it started. It was more noticeable at temperatures under -20 celcius, and very noticeable at around -30 to -40 celcius.
