What about taking a 5.3 putting a borla muffler on and running 3 inch all the way back? Think it would drone? Or just going with a borla muffler and leaving everything else stock.

If you want to pretend your tying to outrun a Blackhawk helicopter thats the way to go. I have a Magnaflow 14 inch single in ,duel out with turndowns. V8 sounds great. V4 is horrible. :driving:

Regular price is $1249 but if you can get a 15% off ($187.35) GM accessories coupon from your dealership, you can get it for 1061.65. I don't think you will find it any cheaper

gm accessories coupon..? Wanna explain

Please and thanks

They come in the mail from your dealership, 15% off chevy or GMC accessories depending on the dealership.

Edit: I get them in the mail at least once a month, from one of 3 different dealerships

Corsa cat back with ARH headers. Love it

Sent from Tapashit

Quick question, is it the headers that give it the loud idle, or the exhaust? I really like how loud and rumbly it is at idle, plus how long its lasts, most that i hear don't stay loud for very long, now i don't know if thats from the video or headers? Also can I use a different tip without effecting the sound or tone? I would like just to put a single 4" or 5" tip.

Hey guys, I have a 2014 GMC Sierra V8 5.3L Base Model, I am looking to upgrade the exhaust, the stock one has only 1 pipe coming out of the back, I was looking on carid.com and they are showing exhaust systems with 1 pipe and others with 2, all claiming they can fit my truck and also they all have different dimensions of pipe, does that matter if they are smaller or bigger than my stock exhaust? I want to make sure before I spend a grand on this, thanks. I have a attached pic to show you what I mean

Have you tried to contact a local muffler shop? Just talked to one the other day out the door was 400 for flow masters w/ tips of your choice. Still leaning towards that corsa sport though. They were pretty much saying that borla is an expensive magnaflow.

Yeah it seems like the flowmasters are reasonably priced and sound the best in my opinion, for the sound I want, I have decided to go with the Flow Master "American Thunder" model, the Borla exhaust systems are over 1000 each while the flowmasters are around 600-700.Whats your opinion on new headers along with a cold air intake kit, worth it? Keep in mind the only headers available for my truck as listed on this site is a Gibson brand and will cost the same as my exhaust system itself, and the two different cold air intakes are pricey as well, ill post some pics

I have been reading a lot about Gibson and their products aren't the best around. A lot of folks are having issues with some of their exhausts. I'm definitely not an expert. I would expect around spring you will start seeing new models.

Yeah I haven't even really heard of them, but Flowmaster is a top of the line brand, ill go with them for a exhaust and try the Injen cold air intake, the other cold air intake on the site is 100 bucks more but i did my research, and the people who dyno tested it, actually lost performance, which is why research pays off, wow.

Keep hearin magnaflow is way better than flowmaster. When are you getting the work done?

not sure, so far I know what I want by online comparison, ordering from carid.com will end up with additional shipping and border fees since im in canada, so tomorrow ill head to napa auto parts and see if they can get me the same parts and i will compare their price....i remember when i ordered stuff for my car from carid.com i had to pay a additional $300-$400 for border fees so if i can avoid that i would like to

Is there any muffler I can put on without drone? Really don't want too spend a grand on a full exhaust. Just want the truck too sound like a v-8

Posted

Every once in a while I post this for new comers. Seven months ago I put my truck up on the lift to work on the exhaust. I saw all the stuff on there and decided to experiment, so I cut the muffler off left everything else. It didn't sound bad at all low rumble at speeds you hear it when you nail it. Cost 40$. To get rid of the drone I ran in M5 till I would stay steady over 65, then I just clicked to M6. If you don't like the sound its only 40$ no big deal, chance it. Then I finally bought a can tune to get rid of the V4 sound and firm up the transmission buy removing some of the TM Im very satisfied. All that for less than 400$. Or you can spend a grand or more just on the exhaust to get your sound and hopefully no V4.
