just read like 20 pages of this thread. Looking to lower(level) the back of my CCLB. I am looking to go with shackles but after reading the issues with pinion angle, drive shaft length, vibrations I am wondering if these issues are only being seen with the shorter wheel base trucks? Has anyone dropped the back of their Crew Cab Long Bed (6.5') with 2" shackles and experienced any issues with the things mentioned above?

Thanks

Jim

I'll let you know by the end of the week. Getting my shackles in today and if its not too cold I plan to have them installed tomorrow.

Finished mine today. 2" shackles and removed the block. I had a humming sound when accelerating onto the highway so I added 2* shims. I noticed I have that hum now at full throttle from 80-90 (toll road speed limit is 80), no other time and no vibrations. Cruising normally anywhere else or accelerating at any other speed and everything is fine. Anyone have any ideas?

Your rear axle looks off center...What's up with that?

Not sure, I did look at other trucks in this thread and a few others looks the same.

Guess it's a little late for the warranty issue. 200 miles and just but some black bow ties and a belltech 3/5 kit on it. Never had an issue at the dealer with the 2007 I had. Did the same with it.

My 2015 LTZ 2wd Crew with 6.2 8 speed.

I've gone through this whole thread and I'm pretty sure I didn't see anything on using shock extenders. Pretty much using something to make the shock sit lower so it still has the same amount of travel when the back end is lowered a couple inches (either by using the drop shackles and messing with the block). I'm just trying to find a way to keep the life on my shocks and not loose life on them by making the back end sit even with the front.

Link to shock extenders:

It would look something like this:

I put a set of 2" lowering shackles on the back of my 2014 denali, drives great until I hooked my trailer to it (approx. 2000lbs)

Got a bad vibration that gradually gets worse up to about 110 kph.

I'm thinking it needs shimmed but I just wanted to see if anyone else has run into this.

I cant help on this sorry, I only haul a Mx bike that's 200 pounds once in a while, but haven't noticed anything.

I don't like the additional rubber bushings. Prove me wrong, but the additional rubber bushings would introduce more lateral axle movement.

So if I measured everything correctly, Im having to replace my 2* shims with 4* shims. Gonna do it wednesday. When I look at my truck the rear sits lower than the front with the 2" shackle and block removed. If I still have any vibration issues after the swap Im taking it to a driveline shop and letting them measure everything out.

Now im really considering getting spindles for the front. Im really digging the lower front. My only concern isI dont know the torque specs for the upper and lower control arms and tierod ends. Does anyone have that info?
