Love the look, can you buy the black GMC emblems or did you do these yourself?

I painted it myself. The emblem comes out pretty easy and I used painters tape to covers the whole emblem, trimmed out the letters and used a wire brush to scuff before applying paint. 30 minutes total

Thanks, do the rears come off like the front emblem?

No. I painted it while on the truck. Lots of newspapers and tape to mask off the rear of the truck.

Just got done color matching the emblems with 3M gloss black vinyl. 60" x 12" piece on Amazon for about $17 and only used about 1/3rd of it. First time using vinyl to cover something and wasn't too bad but I'll probably redo it to cover a few spots I trimmed too short. Spent approx. 1 hr doing this.

So,I am looking to color match my front and rear bumpers along with the grille. I plasti-dipped them about six months ago and they are starting to show wear. It's not bad for less than $30, but it's starting to look like a $30 job. If nothing else it confirmed that I want to lose the chrome. How are you guys color matching your trucks? Are you doing it your self? Taking it to a shop? If so, are you removing the parts or taking in the whole truck? How much did it cost? What does everyone think about vinyl wrap? My truck is black, so it's a little easier to match. I think that's enough questions for now. Thanks in advance!

My bumpers came black (hc edition) I'm at 17,000 miles now. I installed the GM black grille, tried plastic dip around the headlights, and it didn't match. Took it to a body shop, they stripped all the parts, repaired the 100+ chips in the bumper, and painted everything to match. Yes, they removed all the parts from the truck. One day, and $500.00 later. My '09 was a LTZ plus model which came Al black on the front, that was the look I wanted. Its my understanding that these painted metal bumpers are more prone to chipping as they don't "give" like plastic ones. A clear bra is a good investment.
