Thanks! It's nice to hear other people like it as well. I removed it from the truck and had a local shop prep and paint the tailgate latch and the chrome grille surround for $200.

FastHeadlights has a vid on a body lift install. Has directions for removing bumpers in it. Can't remember his username on here though. But the Video should give you what you need.

So I want to get just my rear bumper powder coated, I see some of you have done this before, did you take the chrome off yourself or brought it to a shop? If so around how much they charged to have this done? Can this be done by just sandblasting alone?

color was kinda hard to match but it's close

 

Can someone do this but with color match headlight trim?

finally installed an a/t grille. next mod is some tows!

 

Edit: I also had a suntek clear bra put on the grille and the bumper pad. might get the hood and fenders done also.

My color matched 2015 Iridium Denali Duramax. Bumpers came painted but the rest of the truck had all of the "lick 'em stick 'em" chrome GM gets carried away with. I DO NOT believe in painting over the chrome and everyone told me you can't remove chrome from ABS plastic without messing it up....... I love it when people tell me something can't be done ;-)

Good ole oven cleaner trick for removing chrime from plastics.

You can also soak them in bleach

Both bleach and oven cleaner had zero effect on removing the chrome.
