Sorry for posting all these new threads.. But I need advice.. Everyday that goes on that I have to drive my truck I hate it more and more once if kicks in v4... The drone is so Freaking obnoxious it's unbearable.. I called my muffler shop to see if they had my old exhaust & got a negative... What are my options... I've been informed of that plug in that disables afm can't recall the name. & also Blackbear tune... But will a tune be completely worth my money? I don't need performance or anything else that comes with a tune.. I just want the truck back to normal wether I have a nice sounding exhaust or not I'm just sick of this..

If you dont want the benefits of a tune look at the plug in from range technology

Range Technology is a company that has a device that plugs into the ODBII port that disables AFM completely. It does not overwrite any of the stock tuning so once unplugged the truck behaves as normal. So far Range has a viable unit for 2013 and previous trucks. Right now the 2014 module is in beta testing that only a few people have access too. I think there are some on this forum, but it hasn't been talked about much, so I'm guessing Range asked those people to keep quiet for now.

Blackbear tuning is also another alternative. Although this type of tune completely overwrites the stock tuning and is able to be detected by the dealership scanners.

If you want something that will just remove AFM you might have to just sit tight until Range released their module for 2014 trucks. It will probably be around $200.

Range I have really put thought into. I'm leaning towards that. Asking my dealer would be a good option also. I wonder what they would charge for the muffler & install

OK - I gotta ask this.

If a tune will leave traces that can be tracked by the dealership service department (even if you "untune" it before service), and IF a tune will create warranty issues should something go wrong, why would anyone get a tune?

Wouldn't it be better to at least get out of warranty (or at least a lot more certain that there isn't going to be any warranty issues)? Really trying hard to understand the issue.

Just called the dealer. Chevy only sells the exhaust as a whole set up.. Not just the muffler. I don't wanna drop 600 when I can pay 200 for range.. I think :/

Words can't describe it. It's night and day driveability

I'm thinking though, that I would understand the words "Sorry, sir, your warranty doesn't cover this issue because your truck has been custom tuned."

Those are the words I can't afford to hear if something major happens... I can't chance it

It's all up to you. It all depends on the issue and if it's related to a tune. I had an engine oil cooler line leaking obviously not due to a tune. Never had an issue at the dealer.

I remember hearing that the range product hasn't even released yet for our trucks? True or false

I've heard two different stories on here. One said the '13 would work on the '14, and the other said it is in beta testing for the '14. I'd contact the Range company if you'd like to hear the real story from them.

Ok I gotta ask and you may have told the forum b4 but what exhaust do you have that's driving you crazy when it shifts to V4? I have an 18" MF and although I can tell the v4 kicked it, it isn't worth me going back to stock.
