I'll have to post up pics I have the westin HDX steps aswell, they didn't install very easily and after a week in summer weather the bolts that hold the step platform onto the step itself rusted. Quick email to westin and they acknowledged this is a new item issue and sent me new screws. Personally woulda liked the rb10s however adding the drop steps for them makes it nearly in the amp power step price range.

The replacement platform bolts were in the box with a note from Westin. I need to do that sometime this week.

Yes sir, they were a pain to install. The rear bracket on the passenger side would not line up properly at first. But it turned out great.

I'm pretty sure I put a bracket on a different spot then the instructions called for and that worked however the gaps between the top and the bottom of the door aren't even I'll deal with it one day.

I installed these last night. Picked them up off of ebay for $199 shipped. These should hold me over until I pick up the Amp Research ones. They fit great, no issues with install.

Anyone have the Westin Thrasher boards? I really like the look but they need to mount a little closer to the rockers.

who install this for Silverado? http://www.ebay.com/itm/182357279202

Ok 2 questions. Why ask that on a thread about sidesteps when that's a product for doors. 2nd, are you seriously considering paying $800 for something that just allows you to close the door completely the 1st time? Here's an idea, close it hard enough without slamming to shut it all the way. If it doesn't then bump it to close it. Only takes a second to fix a door that doesn't shut all the way. Have fun wasting $800 on a useless product. Or you could send that money to me so I can buy another handgun since you're going to waste it anyways.

Well after much research on this thread I bought my amp research steps and man they are so effin sweet. I almost went with some other ones but too many ppl had problems with coating peeling off and what not so after reading all that it reminded me of what a man wiser than myself once said, "The bitterness of poor quality lingers far longer than the initial sweetness of a cheap price." I freakin love these things and they exceeded my expectations. 96fad72562636b1642aea9008733adb7.jpg43293340de3791ed8576efbf02d4f792.jpg

That's a super good question and one that I can't answer personally because I live in Southern California, but there have been a few dudes who do live in the Midwest and they haven't had any issues. I'm sure there are always a few out there that have had issues with their steps but that's how it is with anything. They do have a full 5 year warranty and I've been super happy with mine.

Keep in mind they have a 5 year 60k warranty on steps.

I'm not in the midwest but I'm in the northeast with a fair amount of snow/ice and lots of salt and chloride. No problems at all with mine. I usually keep the pivot points lubed with some silicone spray and have never had them freeze up.

One more thing. Go out and buy some high quality stainless steel bolts. 3 weeks after install, and 4 have snapped so far. Now I have to reinstall everything. They're copper coated chalk it appears. The steps and brackets are extremely sturdy though.
