Where are the stainless trim pieces I've seen on the Amp Power? I've only seen one user here with them.

Looks good!

They are an option I opted not to get them because it would bring more attention to the step and the small gap between the board and truck. I think it looks better without the stainless steel strip cause then the step is more hidden.

Hey guys, thuis may have been addressed (in this very thread) but I can't seem to locate it. We're up to 30 pages now so..

Anyway, I just put a set of 6" chrome steps on my crew, bought em off a guy who had them installed by the dealer. It came with 16 bolts, and 4 cage nut/clips.

The front 4 holes horizontal and vertical are threaded on each side, the back horizontals are not, nor is the verticals. You acn use the clips on the verticals, but there's nothing to use in the horizontals in the rear?? I have 4 bolts left over and I'm nervous about heavy passenger getting into the rear of my truck.

What do?

You need to get 4 more cage clips 4 for the verticals and 4 for the horizontals

^+1 I never noticed the uneven gap til it was brought up on here, and now.... minor, but there.

has any body cut these boards down to fit rec.cab yet . I thought about buying a double cab set if they are adjustable and leaving them long to stick under the bed so I have a step back there

Not a bad idea. Only thing is you would have to open. The door everything you want to use the step in the bed

Edit: I'm not sure but I think they only make one size board and you have to cut it down. I could be wrong but that's what I am under the impression of for double cab vs crew cab.

opening the door would not bother me .I just like the thought of it being out of the way when I am driving ,

it looks like the mounts are adjustable but have not seen any in person .would like to look at a set firsthand

The control arm to board mounts are adjustable. Where mounts to the board is on a track that until the screws that hold the board to the arm are tightened. They can slide. Once the screws are tightened and the boards are on, they will not slide anymore.

Yea they are quite expensive. Where are you located? If you are anywhere near me you can see mine. I think you have a very cool idea to make one into a bed step and a cab step.

I live in north east Oklahoma it is just a hop skip and a very long jump to you

Just chacked. Extended cab and crew cab are the same part number and therefore the same thing. If you order a 'extended cab version' you will get the exact same thing I got for my crew cab except you would have to cut it to fit an extended cab. After cutting the end piece should reinstall no problem to the newly cut end.

    • I understand that. The price is what it is, though. The price is what oil costs today, where our choices have led us, where supply is, and where demand is, in the market that is. Speculation is for futures, what we think the price will be, but with incomplete information at the time the price is forecast. I know you know this, but you appear to be intent on making a secondary point here about what you think the market could or should be, if only other choices.   In 1975 it became illegal to export US Crude. I'm conflicted on what the best answer is. Free markets allow export in pursuit of profit. But there is also a lot to gain by producing and consuming our own oil here. How do you reconcile it?
    • That sir is a choice. And even if it were not for all the reasons stated, this disruption has zero to do with the reality of the actual logistics and everything to do with the greed of SPECULATION. Spot price is irrelevant to reality.
    • What I think you're saying is there is supply here at home, and in Venezuela, and we could ease pricing if only it were favorable to do so.   Well, yes?   But that's not the current market. Supply isn't what could someday exist, if only, it's what producers are willing to produce and sell at a certain price point.   The national price of single family homes would come way down if we'd just slap together a few million homes this summer.   RAM and GPUs would get a lot cheaper if we just set up some factories to produce a bunch more and stopped using it to build out AI data centers.
