They (amps) are definitely just one size. So trimming to DC or RC is the same, just different lengths obviously. You'd have to look under the cab to see if there is a place to do both mounts though on a RC. And if you left it long to act as a bed step ( I brought this up to someone earlier), you probably couldn't leave it too long as it would have no support under it. Maybe a foot or so would be doable. It also depends on if the bottom of the cab and box are flush enough so it won't hit anything. Worth a look though.

Didn't care for the AMP LED lights with the kit, nothing wrong with them, just wanted more.

 

Ordered this:

(5m of waterproof cool white LED strips for $8)

 

cleaned the area and wiped down with rubbing alcohol and let dry.

 

Tied into the AMP wire spots for the included lights up front. Ran them cab length underneath:

 

 

And a night shot:

 

 

Nice white light that isn't overpowering. Light is just right by truck.

 

This can also be wired up for those without AMP Boards too obviously, either in door tap (same spot the amps do) or in cab signal for the dome lights or something similar.

How far do the steps drop down? Looks to be pretty far. Is the drop adjustable?

No sure .... I'll measure it ... however it feels perfect entering and exiting. .and when it's closed you don't know it's there

I ordered my SLT All-terrain double cab last week. Stopped at the dealer to show my wife an example, she's since convinced me to get step bars. Now, I know you can get aftermarket bars for half what the dealer charges; but after reading of your problems with the Raptor bars, I'm thinking maybe I should go for the GM dealer installed in spite of the additional cost.

 

Does anybody have the 4" chrome GM bars? Thoughts? Pics?

 

I'm also wondering if they'll let me just buy the things and install them myself, to save a few $$ (and because I have an inherent distrust of dealer techs).

I have a set of the 4" chrome bars from my double cab if you are still looking. Still in the GM manufacturer packaging, the dealer wouldn't let me leave without them. $350 + Shipping. Let me know

They look similar and if they are Nfab, the ones on the rendering above and on the trucks are different. The steps are hollow in the back and the tubes are round vs squarish. There is also the vent hole (or whatever they are) up front. The reaper ones are wheel to wheel rock guards with removable steps. Reaper site just says rock guard/side steps. I'm sure they will be available soon if they were on trucks at SEMA.

Ya I did, I saw so many running boards and side steps it'll make your head spin. The ones on the reaper were the ones that stood out to me. My only concern is that the 3 slots in them will fill with sand and salt in the winter and rust faster.

im thinking of taking my stock tubular chrome ones off and putting these on.

can you tell me how low the steps sit? i guess the best measurement i would like is from bottom of runnungboard to bottom of the step. im trying to get a little more ground clearance.
