Would you be willing to provide a "how to" post including sources and part numbers by any chance?

Sure. I don't have pictures right now but maybe I will take it apart and take some if enough people want it. Its pretty simple really once you look at what I'm describing.

Just take down the upper console and disconnect it. You will see where this led is plugged in to the console. Take out the whole housing and the led with its board will just pull out once you remove it.

I used one of these http://www.oznium.com/prewired-leds in blue and 3mm in size. I would buy a few in cade you break one or two.

Since the LED is rounded and clear it is a little too bright for me so I sanded down the tip flat which also gave it a fresnel finish which dims it a little and disperses the light better.

Next you will have to drill out the opening in the black housing to fit the new LED. I don't remember the size but find a bit that is just big enough for the top of the led but not so big that the whole thing can fit through. There is a lip that you will see on the led.

Then just push the led into the whole and I hooked it up by putting the wires straight into the plug recepticals.

And that's it :)

I hardwired in my Escort 9500i radar detector. Was pretty easy once I found a way to route the wires the way I wanted to. Tomorrow I'm going to get my spray in bed liner, and my console safe installed.

When did the hood come into play? Setup looks damn good. Any plans for more "go" under the hood to make it match the look?

What safe? You'll have to do a write up on it.

Thanks. would love to get a tune or anything, but afraid might void warranty.

Almost past the point of no return... but the powertrain warranty is nice to have. No tune at all or you'll probably get flak from dealer. They have to prove the tune caused damages, but their case would be strong. The 6.2's are stout as is though.

Yea, but with all these mods, I'm getting 12.8mpg city. Acceleration seems slow too, even for 6.2. Would like to wake it up bro.

Gears would help a lot with that. Not mpg's per say but definitely get up and go. And your mpg per computer is wrong too with the new tires. Have to hand calculate or get the aforementioned tune. But gears, possibly 4.10's or more would make it go again. Edited by Texas Husker
