2014 High Country Wheels

I've got a 2014 Silver Ice High Country and looking to swap out the rims. I originally planned to go with some XD's from the aftermarket but after driving the truck for a month I don't want to jack with the suspension because it rides so good. That said, I'm going to stay "stock" so I was thinking about one of the 22's offered by GM. Here's a picture of my truck as it sits now (with stock chrome wheels), below is a pic with the CR160 Wheels from GM (not an actual picture, I "built" a truck on Chevy's website with the wheels). Any thoughts on these wheels on a silver ice truck? Anyone have any pics of High Country's without the stock 20's?post-81312-0-44188200-1390354303_thumb.jpg

I think it will look great! There is a chance that the 22's will make the ride stiffer due to the smaller sidewall that the tire will have. This is assuming that you do not go with a larger tire to bring back the extra sidewall thickness.

I really like those rims Bringtherain, also thanks Coach and Brunnesa. As an FYI, many of the factory 22's are on constraint and you can't find them. Having to do some real searching on the interwebs!

I love the 22" rim designs GM has, but it's just not nearly as functional if you don't have any sidewall. I wish they had some more 20" options. :-(

People who say "ride is compromised with 22's and that 22's don't have any side wall" must be either OLD and fragile, or uneducated. It seriously drives me nuts, if you were blind folded and told to drive different trucks one with 20's and one with 22's the average person wouldn't be able to tell the difference!! Have you ever seen the factory tires on a BMW?!! Older 3 Series BMW's with the 20" option came with 245/30/20 and 295/25/20.....

I've never attempted to take a BMW off the pavement. The just don't make legit 10ply 22" tires.

I love big wheels but those are going to have to stay on my Audi A7. For my needs the truck needs a little beefier tire. 22" wheels look great and ride fine, but don't fit my needs.

The difference is that BMWs are not pickup trucks designed to carry loads and tow. The low profile tires are there for maximum handling capability. A 22" wheel on a pickup truck with an off road package is not a good choice unless you never take it off road. Nissan would not even install standard 18" wheels on their Titan pickups equipped with the off road package to give the tires maximum sidewall height. They installed 17" wheels on off road suspension equipped trucks and quite appropriately. GM seems to be catering to posers who prefer looks over function.
