So what are the details behind the private offer... can it be used with GM EMPLOYEE and or SUPLIER DISCOUNT? Can it be combined with other GM offers?

Dealer is telling me that it typically cancels out another offer or is less than current eligible offers. For me personally I would only get a 1400 cash and 1500 president's day/gm loyalty. He stated it would replace the 1500 rebate but of course you would not accept the private offer. So it sounds to me like GM is sending these offers this month knowing that it will get people to the dealership only to find out the offer is less than you would get with the others available. If it was any other month with the president's day offer being just gm loyalty then people would be eligible to use it. For example, if you were a dodge or ford owner without a loyalty rebate then it is great but everyone gets a president's day deal this month. Of course when that was not the case these private offers were few and far between popping up. Dealer told me straight up it is more marketing strategy nothing else.

Maybe the "fine print" is different now, but when I used my private offer in Dec, it stated that the offer was in addition to all other incentives that I qualified for.

Private offers are compatible all other rebates and pricing, except other private offers. Make sense? For instance, you may not use a $1000 private offer email voucher along with a $500 private offer mailer you received the next week.

Are you guys getting these for GMC or just Chevy? I got my dad the Chevy $1000 private offer last month but it did not work in conjunction with his GM Loyalty. Dealer stated the private offer is to lure new potential customers since they don't get the loyalty rebate..but then again that just negates the purpose of being rewarded for "being loyal"

*edit* just messed around on Chevrolet.com and got a Silverado one, anybody have any luck on a GMC private offer? I need one!!!

Just pulled the trigger tonight and picked up a Z71 crew cab. I brought my 'Private Offer' along and it did not stack with the incentives.

Used my private offer in jan with the other rebates for a total of 4250 dealer said you could use them with other incentives

Here is what I currently have in offers: $1400 rebate, $1500 owner loyalty, $2000 bonus on gmcard = $4900.

I have USAA but that $750 cannot be combined.

Yesterday I finally got the pop-up private offer of $1000 from the Chevy web site as described in my previous post. So, can I use the $1000 with the above offers or not?

Did you not read my post? "Chevy $1000 private offer last month but it did not work in conjunction with his GM Loyalty"

Back in December i used my $1000!Private offer with GMs $1K rebate and $1500 bonus cash for $3500 discount. Private offer back then could not be used with GM points or any other exclusive offer like $750 USAA discount. What my dealer told me is it can be used with rebates that everyone qualifies for. It cant be used with offers you exclusively qualify for if that makes sense.

Was told by GMC that Chevy offered the POs and GMC didn't. I tried myself constantly to no avail, finally called GMC and was told the above.

Got one to fire up on my work ipad but it disappeared too quick the other day. I've been trying on my home pc and still waiting.

Last year I used one on my 13 Camaro. They come in handy.

    • Well, I received a message from the dealer...
    • The no sound problem is the audio amplifier. The audio amp has a heatsoak issue in some circuitry which causes it to miss the wakeup handhake. If it doesn't respond within a certain time parameter, then you get no sound. I brought it in and had the software update, but after further testing the tech made the call for a new audio amplifer. The software update I belive gives more time for the amp to respond, but if the amp is defective then you can still get no audio at times. After the update it went 12 days before no sound. After doing some research, apparently the fix is a new (updated) audio amplifer, the circuitry internally has been improved to better deal with heat. I had to wait 2 1/2 weeks because at the time, it was on backorder with no eta. Well the amp came in earlier this week. I had the amp and programming work done today. After picking it up I stopped at a few places, and whenever I started my truck, the audio was on instantly, so whatever they did it appears to work because it's never had sound that quickly......Hope this helps
    • Make sure the latch mechanism is properly greased. Look at the catch for fresh marks/scratches. And see if it has moved a little, too.
    • I have the 18" black mutilspoke wheels that came with my truck. I like them as they are very subdued and look good with the 295/70's    I am sure that the next set of wheels I get will be some after market all black wheels. Or maybe some AT4X wheels.
    • Interesting question which you partly answered in the word 'potentially'. I think that is going to be a 'point of reference' inquiry. What are the touchstones?    This will sound petty but it is the main source of end fighting in threads on this topic. Define a motors "Life". Think about the various arguments that have been entertained on these pages in that very argument.    I can only speak from my viewpoint. Engine "Life" in my world is defined by power cylinder integrity. For the majority of engines it is the bore/ring interface that quits first. Loss of seal. Oil consumption and loss of power. Most Pro motor builders would agree and there is a good deal of information on using "Leak Down" as a primary indicator of bore integrity. At home a compression test is more the thing. If we can agree on that then I think CC Jensen has done its homework and I'd find it valid.    Now by my own definition, Dizzy, wife's Ecotec 2.4 I-4 has been dead since about 80K miles. And yet we have logged over 200K miles more on it. "Life" and "Usefulness" are therefore independent.      I know a mature fella right now who has just hit 300K on a Mitsubishi 3A92 NA MPFI motor and has done compression test every 100K. It was 205 psi after break in and is now about 195 and still even. He uses shelf oil but good filters and adheres to a 3K mile OCI. He even do UOA's on each of them for the first 50K.      I also know a fleet mechanic with that same motor that gets 300 to 500 K out of them but the are oil using, wristpin sloppy, skirt slapping motors. He ran one with a piston pin so loose the piston was bouncing off the cylinder head for about 20K miles before he called TOD. Both of them claim success.
