Thanks to everyone, problem solved.

Take a look at the boat I have been building for two and a half years. Go to packsail.com

Tom Pack

Sorry from the beginning I believed you. But thanks to everyone here the problem is solved? Was this real? I'm VERY sorry if this is real and I have accused you of being fake, but what was this sudden resolution on the issue?

Why would OP want to even come back? The way you guys are so quick to pounce on someone. The guy doesn't visit internet forums like this, but when he does for the first time, just looking to see if anyone else might have seen this issue, everyone wants to pull out their "BS meter". Well quit playing with your BS meter. It's no wonder why I'm beginning to hear talk around that GMT is not as friendly as it once was.

OP and I have had on ongoing pm back and forth trying to convince him that this is a decent place. He posted his website because after he told me his background, I told him he should introduce himself to others here on the site. He's not here to sell a boat to any of us

Here's just a little of what he let me in on:

A little about me:

I am an ex Marine pilot with over 600 combat missions in Vietnam

Also a retired Merchant Marine Ship Captain

I have a website, packsail dot com

The guy was shot down like 4 times and at age 72, he has gotten into designing/building catamarans. What will a lot of us be doing at 72? Probably sitting around and crapping diapers. :)

Be patient lets see what else OP posts if he does. I wouldn't blame for not coming back. He owes us nothing after the way he has been treated by some on here. And yes some of your posts have been deleted because they served no purpose other than to attack OP.

That's what I was hoping for, but I just didn't understand how all of a sudden thanks to everyone here the problem was resolved.. I see now why he mentioned his boat link, but unfortunately whenever people usually post links to their businesses like that it IS for something sub-par. This is obviously on the up and up, as I thought it was from the beginning. I feel bad I doubted my instincts now.

I hope the OP does come back and we all get a chance to know him, and hopefully show him more respect, which he clearly deserves.

To OP and person I quoted:

Thank you both for protecting me. You are both heros.

Ok. OP sent me a PM clarifying things a bit.

My problem was solved, not the truck's problem. My problem was that the service department checked out both of the truck problems and said they could not duplicate either the transmission problem or the unintended acceleration problem, therefore there was nothing else they could do. Then I went to the service manager and complained that they need to do something more to try and solve these problems. He said he would check it out and call me. Two days later the owner of the dealership called me.

He said that they want to give me a free loaner truck just like mine and have their top service technician drive mine every day for weeks or months to see if he can duplicate either of my two problems. That solves my problem, regardless of the outcome. If they come back in two months and say that they were never able to duplicate anything, I will be satisfied.

Wow, so you are going to let a dealership drive your truck for 2 months while you make the payments on it. That wouldn't fly far with me.

He got a free loaner just like his, that would work for me. Be a good time to see the US, driving vacation time.

I've had my 2014 Sierra nine months and I just had the same thing happen with my truck. I kept hitting the brake pad and nothing happen. Well, something happened. It's called a Ford Taurus and he then was pushed into a Lexus. This happened tonight so we'll see what the dealership says. I won't drive it until its been thoroughly checked out and they sign off on it.

I am not going to dispute whether the truck's wheels was still engaged by the engine's driven inertia, but I can honestly say this truck has issues downshifting when braking at times.

My transmission hesitates at times not knowing what to do, it feels like it is holding back from downshifting.

I have had to do a few quick brakes when traffic light change, appling brakes the vehicle lags from downshifting and always feels like it is in a higher gear than required. This is how they are reaching their amazing numbers for mileage, however this vehicle really only drives proper at highway speed except the "shaking and vibration issues" all other daily driving I have experienced early upshifts to get the mileage , and delayed clunking downshifts that keeps the vehical's forward inertia locked.

So yes for Sue's claims this might feel like the car is still being driven when brakes are applied.

I wonder if these shift solenoids, or the transmission module has changed since last years model, because this transmission behaves much differently laging at times. I would have thought that if one applies brakes the transmission's forward inertia should be realeased starting downshifting immediately, however I have witnessed in my vehicle this seems to lay for some folks including mine.

I am still standing by the fact there is a leaking interal pump seal in some of these trucks, causing incorect pressure for solenoids to read and act on, or faulty cheap solenoids like the Dodge Ram had a few years ago.

I think GM bought from same supplier, but cannot confirm this though!

I bet that GM acts quickly getting their new 8speed into 1500 model asap, as many have been unhappy with the way this current transmission is preforming, and GM knows of more serious issues then we are aware of.

I can believe others claimes, of forward inertia but not the engine rpm above idle range.

This is my humble opinion.

I can feel for anyone has something like this happen. A couple of years ago my truck decided not to idle down when I pulled into a parking lot one day. Nearly hit the vehicle parked in front of me. Thankfully it never happened again but if I wasn't paying attention that day it could of been a real bad situation. Hopefully the OP gets some answers and resolutions to his situation.

This is NOT BS, my truck did this several times...got the the "no light on, no problem with this truck, can't replicate" speech by some idiot service manager. Why on earth would someone make this up?! I am just coming across this thread tonight for the first time, I explain that I had the same issue here:

http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/162450-does-your-2014-do-this/?p=1478378

I made that post on July 16th, never in my experience have I had a vehicle do this. But, to this date I haven't been driving it because its been at my dealer for water leaks, and other various issues for about a month now.

Hello sinnerz,

I'm sorry to hear you've experienced this same acceleration issue in your Denali along with the other various issues. I know it's very inconvenient to be without your vehicle for a long period of time. I'd be happy to contact your dealer for a follow up on your behalf at any time. Don't hesitate to send a private message if this is something of interest. I'll be on the lookout for updates in the future.

Sincerely,

Eddie A.

Similar experience as this can suddenly happen to anyone. My wife and her friends took my old '02 Silverado on a road trip a few years back. She prepared to exit the interstate and turned off the cruise control. The truck started accelerating as she entered the off-ramp. She tried several things before shifting the truck to neutral and turning off the ignition. Pretty calm considering a truck full of screaming women. She called AAA and had the truck towed 200 miles to my local Chevy dealer. Here's what they found:

The State was chip-sealing the highway and a rock bounced around under the hood until it fell perfectly under the throttle stop (not sure the exact term) on the throttle body. It was a million-in-one shot. The service department had never seen anything like it. In theory, that rock could have fallen out during the tow and then it would be the old "no problem found" scenario. I totally agree with the moderator on cutting the OP some slack as these things really do happen. I realize this is an old topic but did the OP ever get an answer on what caused his issue?

    • If there are updates/fixes you want, you could pay to have the updates applied by the dealer.
    • Hi all - my current truck is a 2022.5 1500 High Country 3.0. I bought the truck used last year. After doing some digging, I noticed that my truck's software is stuck on the original build from 2022. I have no available software updates. I talked to my dealer about this and they recommended not trying to force an update since the 36,000 mile warranty is expired. This is a big bummer since there have been many major releases since that have fixed small issues and improved speed/usability.   For reference, the current software build number is: full_gminfo37_gb-user 10 W158E-W164.4.2-QIH22B-563.3 158 release-keys Has anyone had a similar experience? Should I just forget about it and move on, or try a different dealer?
    • Sure. Buy it for me 🤣
    • Using zip ties but 2-3 they snap due to sharp edges. Just using a shoestring. Last longer. 🤣
    • I ordered the Snap On...waiting for it to come in later this week or early next week.   New front cover, new crank seal and new balancer are on. Water pump, pulley, fan, hoses, and plastics reinstalled. I can move forward knowing all my timing marks are dead on and the front engine is hopefully sealed better than it was. Take 2 with the water pump...trying high temp thread sealer on the lower bolts.   Rebuilt injector and new-new regulator is in, it looks like new. Top intake reassembled and all the bits are reconnected and snugged down.   Thinking about knock sensors again, I located both of mine and, there's your problem, Francis... The driver's side one is broke, plastic is bashed in, part of the wire is bare, and it appears to have been damaged like that for a long time. I saw the wire but didn't think anything of it. The knock sensor might not be my pulled timing issue, but it sure looks suspect. It must still be conducting, otherwise I'd expect a CEL. But perhaps with its sacred crystal inside exposed, jilted and dirty, maybe it's sending mixed signals. So I'm waiting for one of those and a new pigtail to come in. Pass side sensor looks good, except for the spark plug wire resting on it (!). The plug wires are healthy so it shouldn't be causing an issue, but I separated them and added zip ties to nearby looms to keep everything well apart.   So, I'm down to installing a knock sensor AND, oh, replacing the exhaust and cat. I actually think that's going to be fairly easy, it's all bolt-together, all new stuff from Walker is laid out on the shop floor ready to go. Hopefully have this thing on the road again for the weekend.   My luck? It will still be leaking oil, coolant, pulled timing, intermittent CEL for running rich, or it probably won't run at all -- because that's how this project has gone.   I've never worked on a vehicle so ...hurt? ...cursed? in my life. Everything has been effed with SO HARD, but I think...knock on wood...I've managed to undo all the backyard stuff and we're almost reset back to "just" an 80k mile, 30 year old Blazer.
