I just wish somone would try it and see! hahaha :ughdance:

I would like to see a conversion to a reg cab truck from a 5.3 to a 6.2. Build your own sport truck and show GM how it is done!

What are you guys using to mount the additional pulley and where are you mounting it to? Looks like under the alternator someplace, is there an existing bolt hole or are you fabing up a bracket? Thanks!

short block is pretty much the same from what I've read, but the heads/cam, intake, etc is all different, as is the tune etc

dry sump oiling in some C7s vs wet, etc

The good news the overlap in usable parts between the two is great, so you can make a 6.2 truck quick easily (well, quick for a truck anyway)

The long block is identical between the two..... one can be used to replace the other donning the appropriate covers, oil pan, accessories, intake and exhaust manifolds.  Yes the Vette can have dry sump oiling but it also comes wet like the trucks.

I was told that the heads and pistons are different in the two motors ? Not sure if that’s true and if so then wouldn’t we be able to buy the heads for a vet and put them on the 6.2L truck?

I answered that 3-4 posts up, and it’s already answered in this thread.

this thread is also from 2014, we know a lot more now.

lt1 intake doesn’t do much of anything
