using a brand new razor blade, spray the residue with goo gone, then slowly scrape it off. buff off any left over with the goo-gone. Be careful not to etch your window.

Actually, I would recommend not using the razor blade, especially if you have a rear window defroster grid. A paper towel soaked in mineral spirits should take that goo off. Similarly, WD-40 which is about 60% mineral spirits, is also good for removing stuff like that.

Agree on the WD 40, I'd use a shop towel rather than a per towel.

Wd-40 won't hurt the tint?

Try the Goo Gone first! Smells much better than WD-40 if you accidentally get any on parts other than the window!

Grab a roll of plastic cling wrap, lightly spray the sticky areas, then quickly cover all areas with a big piece of wrap, gently pressing so it all clings. The wrap keeps Goo Gone from drying or dripping down glass. Wait about 15 mins, remove plastic and wipe. Immediately spray & rub if you have any stubborn spots left. When satisfied, spray with class cleaner to remove Goo Gone residue.
