I bought the GM one with my truck purchase. Great quality, looks durable, and fairly thick. Will definitely keep things from moving around.

I ordered the GM one off E-Bay for under $100 shipped, good quality and nothing will slip on that thing. I also ordered the tailgate cover off E-bay.

I have one on my current truck, and it has worked great for 5 years. It is a "sportfloor hd truck bed mat" by northwest rubber. Might be a Canada only product. It is 1/2" thick and has a diamond plate pattern on it.

 

I like rubber mats because they offer better traction than plastic liners (death traps in frosty/snowing conditions), but aren't so grippy that they rip appart cardboard if you need to slide a heavy box, I found this to be a problem with spay on liners. This one has been through a lot and is still in good shape. I've slid a few pallets (some in the 1200-1300lb range) in and out of it with a fork lift, and their aren't any marks, scraps, gouges, etc.

 

My only complaint is that stuff gets trapped underneath it. I drove to a empty lot once and swept it out after the first year. I have neglected it for the last few years and i doubt a broom will clean it. I thought about removing the mat before taking it to a car wash, but I doubt they would want all those screws, marrettes, bits of garbage, shell casings, etc flying around the wash bay. I'll probably have to sweep it, then powerwash, then get someone to help me get it back in (their heavy!).

I'm going on over a month now, and many of the days have been well over 60 and it's still not laying flat.. I don't know what else to do but put something heavy on it for a week..

Do you think this will fit over OEM plastic bed liner is there a part number for rubber mat?

Anyone have any experience with BedRug bed mats? I have a factory drop in bed liner but thinking about getting a carpet like mat to go over it and the tailgate.

I have a Bedrug in my 08 and love it. 2014 coming in any day now and I am having one put in it before I even take it home. I have the full liner version and that's what the new one will be also. Sure makes it easy on the knees if you are in the bed of the truck for any reason. even grass clipping sweep out easily.

I just removed the GM factory plastic drop in and installed a GM bedrug that I bought on ebay from a dealer for $350.00 delivered.

I love the bedrug. I hated the GM factory plastic liner. It was only in the truck for three months and the bed has a lot of white spots where the plastic liner rubbed off the paint.

The full bedrug is the way to go.

Do you guys with the bed mats install the tall gate liner's to try and avoid dust and rain getting into the bed? There are some significant gaps. I don't have a bed mat but I like to keep my truck clean. Any thoughts on the Extant tail gate liner? It's more or less additional weather stripping you install to keep the elements out. I picked one up a couple a weeks ago but haven't gotten around to installing the thing yet.

When i bought the box cover they sold me a $40.00 dust kit which sealed up all the gaps the kit did a nice job. As soon as you install a box cover it will turn your box into a vacuum and will suck in all the dust

      The guy that owns K&P filters last I checked in with him has over 300,000 miles on his Dodge base Hemi using his own 35 micron absolute stainless mesh filter from its first oil change.    The GM study I've posted a dozen times shows the relationship in engine life based in multiples of base units, not miles or years. That is the base unit is the number of miles the motor ran using the reference filter efficiency.    The above two paragraphs dismantle anecdotal arguments IF one changes oil often enough to prevent particle formation and the motor is in otherwise good shape. That is not full of silica (no air filter) or suffering a metallurgical issue that is not part of the lubrication discussion. Poor heat treat in example.   Data from UOA's I've reviewed from more than a few engines can show remarkably broad variations in oil cleanliness using the exact same filter over the course of an engines life.     Lastly there is the common sense of it. Wear debris WILL circulate the engine BEFORE it ever sees a filter in route to that filter and WILL harm the pump which NEVER sees filtered oil.    Alpha question then becomes, given the facts, how long do you believe is a reasonable service life from a vehicle you are certain you will not pass down? That is the junk yard will be it's resting place when you're done with it? (the moral issue most don't care about).    Omega question is then how diligent are you prepared to be in general mechanical, air & oil maintenance? Preventing particulates and keeping them sufficiently dilute; preventing the precursors from generation, amalgamation and precipitation.    If I get a good look at the engine bay of a vehicle I have a fair idea of the owners commitment to the inside of the power train. That 30 micron WIX is still more efficient than a sieve.

      It also depends on what criteria someone is using for “best” when talking filters.  Are we going off best efficiency?   Best quality/QC?  Etc. because the two may not mutually exclusive.

      I'd guess that it's because they are Mann-Hummel filters since about 2016, they own Wix and are mostly all made in China now.
