I checked out some new 2015 Yukon's briefly in the lot and noticed on the window sticker it said "Halogen Inferred Headlights" on it so i figured all the tahoes/Yukon's would be the same as our trucks right? Just now I noticed a new Tahoe start up and of course it's headlights looked mysteriously like HID's? I could be wrong of course, but perhaps gm got enough complaints to do what they should have done in the first place.

Maybe if ever single buyer of a 2014 sierra/silvy complains about the headlights enough we can essentially annoy gm into some upgrades... ha not likely but I can dream right

If the sticker says HIR then it should have HIR. I don't think they have HID's. The ones I have seen at night don't look like HID

Agreed, and I like my Silverado like it is too! I just thought it was interesting that some members are changing to HID and / or LEDs and that is now available on top end GM trucks in 2015.

What is the hangup on HIDs? Especially with the GMC it seems to be a poor headlamp design. I'd be supportive of LED headlamps if they're done right but I've driven tons of HID-equipped cars and hated it. They all have sharp cutoffs that make driving at night in deer country a gamble.

And push button start with keyless entry.

I want that just as much as I want some bright headlights (hid). I drove a Nissan Maxima for a while with keyless entry (and HID's) and it was annoying going back to a truck without either.. Although my new trucks headlights are a massive improvement over my old trucks they sill don't compare to those hids. But like y'all said, hopefully the new ltz tahoes/Yukon denali's projectors will bolt right up to our housings, fingers crossed

I know for many it's more about when we went from GMT-900 standard reflectors to K2 projectors, we lost some of the light output to the sides, above, etc, which we were accustomed to. Switching to HIDs gave us an overall bulb output increase and so also gave us a slight increase to the sides, etc to make up for what we lost. Especially need that extra light to the sides in deer country.

As for HIDs in general, I know around here they work great.. it's mostly flat terrain so cutoff is never a problem. Though I can see if in the hilly country, it might be a big problem.

The headlights on the Sierra are better looking to me than the Silverado. I like the look of the projector Silverado lights but the LEDs are cool. Hands down the AT GMC has best grill and front end on the market!

The new Tahoe's and Yukon's have very nice interiors and the new options are great, albeit very expensive. I for one though feel like they are not attractive and even having owned 5 Tahoe's since 2004, will jot likely buy another, HIDs or not.
