Driver Side Bolster Wearing Out?

We've had our truck for about a month and a half and the bolster is already cracking and stretching. My 02 Sierra went 12 years and the bolster looked brand spanking new, however the brakes and frame did not lol.

Anyone else's already do that? Non of us who drive it weigh over 190lbs so this shouldn't be happening. To get up in the truck we use the steering wheel and a nerf bar.

correct I thought the proper term was bolster. I'm a hot hatchback guy haha so forgive my ignorance.

I'd call it a bolster... Even though our trucks seats aren't really bolster-y.

Thanks. I just call it the left part of the seat cushion I guess I just never heard of it referred to as a bolster...

Anyway, Yes, the left part (door side) of my driver's seat cushion is wrinkled more than the right side; passenger side outer portion (right side toward door) is the same way. i don't know any other way to get out other than slide on out.

Since my Wife's 2001 Trans Am leather seat is doing the same thing, I wasn't too worried. We clean and condition the leather periodically; still no cracks, just wrinkles...

Accelerated wear like this can result from wearing certain types of clothes, for example jeans with riveted pockets where metal rubs against the leather, causing rapid scufing of the finish.

Yep, I had that happen too very quickly. It had a fold in it and the black cloth turned almost white and got fuzzy. If I used my fingers I could feel the foam under the cloth and it felt like they had 2 end pieces of foam, you could run your fingers in it and see the crease. I traded that truck off and made sure to get leather and I now have running boards so I really try to stay off that part of the seat getting in and out but you should have to baby it like this, its rediculious. My 04 didn't look bad at all in 105,000 miles and 10 years.

I installed a set of inexpensive seat covers on my truck after I bought it. They fit well and seats udner neath look like new.

I'm having the same thing happen and I try to get out without sliding. I started seeing it after 500 miles. Now at 3400 it way worse, I will be bringing it up with the dealer. I'm going tomorrow since I was 200 miles away from home and threw my AC belt this Saturday. Not happy about 200 miles on the highway with windows open in 90 degree temps. Leather is an A/C or cold weather material. Best part was the dusty construction areas, so I'll be getting them to clean the inside also.

Interesting. These seats are supposed to have a higher strength foam and a more durable fabric from a wear perspective and a stain resistant perspective. Keep us posted. Mine is wrinkling a bit but I just chalked it up to the different fabric attributes over my old truck. The fabric in these is more tarp-like I guess is the best way to describe it. I like them though. My old seats trapped and held lent and animal hair horribly bad and it was impossible to get out. I'm also not a fan of leather seats at all. So far I'm enjoying these new seats overall, but I do notice the wrinkles that have developed rather quickly from sliding out.

I agree with Silv....in #11...These seats where redesigned in shape and construction material to avoid damage due to the slide out...I note that my leather 09 seat feels much more comfortable than the '14s...'14s feel real firm...had one for a few days...My 09 seat is cracking on the down the side partition. Very small area.
