So today I was adding more sound deadener, and i decided to go ahead and just gut the interior.

Then I power washed the carpet. This stuff was nasty.

Here is where I stopped at for the day.

I'm not going to have enough sound deadener to cover the whole floor, but I don't think I'm worried about it. As long as I get a good amount of it covered I still think it will make a difference.

Too bad you didn't measure the ambient noise with a meter, in several locations, before and after. That would, of course, be a more useful and scientific journal entry; it's difficult to assess 'it feels quieter.'

In a month or two I'll be installing a 700W 5-channel amp. I'm not sure if I need to add the sound-absorbent mat.If I decide to, I'll run that test. (I'm pretty sure there are no lobsters hiding in my cab though.)

Anyway, nice work; the truck is coming right along.

Thanks!

Today I got everything installed back in the truck except for the rear seat and all the trim pieces. Planning on finishing up this weekend.

Took advantage of the break in the rain to reinstall some of the finish trim pieces and the Weathertech floor liners. I probably won't get the rear of the cab finished up until I get the truck back from the alignment shop.

Damn it they look good, I keep telling myself my carpet don't deserve WeatherTech Digi's but Seeing yours is making it difficult.

Haha! I'm suprised at how well they fit. The ones in my Cruze are complete garbage. Edited by Daryl Z71

So I was able to get the truck in the garage after all. She's all buttoned up. I did find a problem though. I have a leak at the back of the cab. Water was laying on top of the shelf where the rear seat sits. I'm pretty sure it's the rear window, but not 100% sure. I've been wanting a one piece rear widow anyhow so I'll probably just go ahead and replace it.

Just wait. [emoji38] I wish they made the high end Huskies for these pickups.

I know, same thing here. That's what I was originally going to get until I found that out. They make them for the Cruze so I'm planning on getting them eventually.

New member here just looking through the thread and am enjoying what I see. I'll have to post up a thread of my rehab of my 99 RCLB Sierra 2500 when I get the time.

Thanks. I look forward to seeing your build.

My 30" light bar came today so I started the installation. I made some pretty generic brackets and bolted it to those. I have most of the wires in the harness ran. I'll finish that up tomorrow.
