Dish or Direct?

We have had DirecTV since 97 with no issues. It works for us and as for the weather issues, we only get picture out problems when it is a serious downpour outside and it usually does not last long. We love having a DVR and never watch live TV anymore.

One thing I will suggest is if you get a satellite dish, ensure they mount it somewhere to where you can knock the snow off of the dish. The dishes generally have to point into the southern sky as well, so keep that in mind for those of you who live in apartments or townhouses. Otherwise you will be stuck using whatever setup they have at that complex (some have cable, some have 1 dish that feeds the building that may belong to either Direct TV or Dish Network So always try to get an apartment that has a south facing balcony, and then you can have your own dish installed. Otherwise those apartment complexes do have the right to say "no" to having a dish mounted onto their building or roof.

Someone could pretend o be you, get your satelitte shut off. Or add some pricey packages. They call saying the name is spelled wrong, ask how its spelled in their system. Rinse, lather. Repeat with address, credit card info, phone number, etc.

You do know that this is how DIRECTV works they send you cards with your account number on it so you can give to people and they can call in and say you referred them

Direct since 97, people in my family try others, when come to my house and they see mine they switch. When its time to renew I tell them Im going to change I get free stuff.

Time Warner=Comcast, slowly removing the competition for an monopoly. U.K. is full of them as well. Though I only pay 20GBP for fibre optic interwebz, still have to be charged to use the phone line due to BT owning the original socket and phone wiring in the house; Internet is through Sky, not BT so the Monopoly ensues! But just go with a fast internet and "boot-leg" or jail break apple t.v. or w/e

If it wasn't for Nascar I would go antenna, in the eighties I got the 10 ft dish, couldn't get cable cost me 3500$. They told me Id never have to pay a fee, they lied six months later channels started going dark. I was young and stupid.
