Never got around to it and now with my Zone 1.5" body lift being put on by my brother this weekend, I'll probably get new 20" wheels and tires.

Can the center caps be removed? I don't see a way to take them off. It would be so much easier to paint/plasti dip the bow ties that way.

take your wheel off and they push out from the back.

If you do the wheels, the easiest way to "tape off" is to use a deck of playing cards. stand them upright and they slide right in between the wheel and tire. provides quick easy protection from spraying the tire. and, doing all 4 off the truck at the same time is easiest. Or a piece of cardboard behind the spokes helps too.

Here's a pic of the cards, quick search, forgive the ram rims...

Great tip. Thanks

I taped off my tires and wish I wouldn't have. In some places, you can see a tiny bit of the aluminum. After watching some YouTube videos from dipyourcar.com, I discovered that it's not necessary. Just spray on the wheel and tire, then pull it off the tire!

Another important note: Everyone says, yes it will still peel off easily after x amount of time. If you use a clear coat or glossifier of sorts, it makes it a PITA to remove. it will remove, but requires much more effort. I attempted this on some side badges, I wanted to test removability with clear coat.

I actually came across a good FAQ video last night explaining plasti dip to a friend and they covered and show using clear coat:

If you remove the wheels from the truck you dint have to tape anything off

True. The beauty of plasti dip is you can just easily remove the overspray. And then still play poker without marked cards...

If you don't take off the wheels, then do you just spray over the nuts? What happens if you need to rotate your tires after plasti dip the lugs?

I was thinking of buy just black ones just so I don't have to worry when I need to remove a tire.

I sprayed over my camaro rim lug nuts

No issue removing them socket fit fine the plasti dip even stayed on the nuts

yours look more polished than mine. I could be wrong though. Do you have any pics of the entire side of the truck. I really like this look!
