Well I'll be seeing you shortly then. I'll be going with the 18" NVs though. Going up to the tire store to get a good visual, still don't know wether to go with the 285/65 Toyo AT2's or 275/70 Ko2's. I do like the face of the 17" NV's more though, its actually concave vs the flat face of the 18" NV's.

I'm supposed to be getting my ko2's today. I love the tire tech in it but am having second thoughts about the look of the tire! Looks great on 17 or 18" rims but I am starting to hate the look of them on 20's. Maybe I've been staring at too many pictures...

Yeah, that was one of the reasons for 17 vs 18. The other reason is the offset. 17 you can get in 0. 18 you can get -12 or +18. I really love the look of 0 offset.

They look better in person, at least IMO.

You're right. I went to the local Ford dealer last night where they have a bunch of f150's modded with rims and tires to bring in the young guys (it works). Half of them had ko2's. and they looked great!

Now if all the dealerships would stop buying all the stock, I could finally get mine.

I was on the same boat as you, I saw a ton of guys on here with the 275/60r20 ko2 and was't all that impressed. Once they came in and we threw them on I was really blown away. Great looking tire. Post up pics once you get them on!

BFG KO2 275/65R20, RC 2" level (no rubbing)

Very little road noise, MPG doesn't seem to have been affected very much and ride quality is only slightly firmer than stock @ 42psi. Paid $1340 CDN installed. Overall very happy so far, I was debating a lot between the 60 and 65 but I'm glad I went this route. Looking forward to trying them in the snow.

Here's a before and after also:

any straight on views? thanks

Anyone who has run different offsets on their trucks have anything to say on fuel mileage relating to offset? On my 02 duramax I had some pro comp rock crawler 97 series 0 offset which were heavy as hell and I got much worse mileage with them than the stock wheels. There was no way for me to tell whether it was the weight of the wheel or the offset that affected the mileage. Any input?

Posted

It was the weight of the new wheel and tire as well as the increased width and rolling resistance. While offset may change aerodynamics slightly, you'll never see a real measurable difference on our trucks. Thats the only effect offset would have on mileage, its simply where the wheel and tire are located in the wheel well relative to the mounting flange.

Are 18s required on a max tow package silverado? Mine has OEM 18s. I want 17s in the future. Anyone know?

I see no reason at all that 18's would be required.

Had the tires and wheels installed an hour ago. Looks amazing actually. Really happy with that.

Unfortunately the balancing has to be off, the truck was shaking like a son of a on the highway.

Also unfortunately, my desktop crashed this morning so I can't upload pics from my camera and edit them...Will post as soon as I fix it.
