Rough Country 2.5", this with the 285/70 Duratracs on the 0 offset 17" Method NV's are very driveable. I tend to do about 40-60 miles a day and all I've noticed is a slight hum at highway speeds with the windows up and radio down or off. They're about as loud as my last car with summer only performance tires. Absolutely no rubbing.

Nice, I was thinking it was a 4in lift. Im putting the Method Nvs on my truck also but hopefully 33 mud grips on it with 4in lift. Truck looks good though man

Thanks! Everyone that see's the truck in person think it's a leveled 2500 at first glance. Next time (probably another 2-3yr's until I get a 6.2, I work for GM) I'll probably go with one of the prerunner style suspension systems with full coilovers and adjust it up (around 3.5") to use 35's while keeping that low COG look while gaining some ride and travel over what I have now. I love the way this truck performs but you always end up wanting to go bigger the next time around...

Had the same set up on my 14. Loved the look and it rode great.

Must be everyone ordering them after seeing how great they look on this fourm haha. What size and offset did you go with? Also curious as to where you ordered them from and best price you found. Thanks!

I should have ordered them the first time I saw your truck.

Whats up with the air dam? How did you make the lower finishing piece? Is it just a cut down stock piece? I never noticed that on your truck before...

I went with 17x8.5 +0 offset. $200 each, but the have $50 off a set of 4 right now and then $30 rebate I'd you use your Discount Tire card. So, $720 shipped after you factor those in.

As for tires, I'm sticking with Cooper ATPs again. 285/70/17. These are $207 each. However on ebay, in the Discount Tire Direct store, you get $100 off a $400+ purchase (ends today). So I bought 2 tires for $414 and got $100 off instantly, so it was $314. I did this 2 times (so $828 total reduced to $628). Plus Cooper has a $70 mail in rebate now, so $558 for the 4 tires shipped after all said and done.

I would have done the ebay deal on the wheels too, but they don't have any of the 17s listed in our pattern (probably because of the back order). But if you want 18 or 20 inch, you can do the 100 off 400 deal on those too.

Ya I havent seen very many people with anything smaller then 20s. Me personally I like an off road look, 20s look good with 35s and a 6in lift imo. Both trucks look awesome!

Thanks for the info! I saw the $100 off $400 as well and think I might use it for tires (Nitto TG). I have been kicking it around but about 2 weeks ago I added a set of 20" LRG 104's to my cart on a certain website to see the total, and they are running a buy 3 get 1 free deal right now. Plus my cart had a glitch and gave me an extra 20% off so the total for 4 20" Lrg's comes to $707 free shipping (normal price $1176). The only problem is they are 0 offset and I want to run the Nitto Terra Grappler 305-55-20XL since they are about the size I want but still 4 ply so the ride should still be good and keep the weight down.

I am close to pulling the trigger since its such a screaming deal on the wheels but the offset still has me a tad concerned with a 305 tire.

305 with a 0 offset will poke out a bit, it all depends on the look you're going for :)

    • Common failure.  You need to replace the fuel door housing.   The painted cover transfers over to the new housing.  To remove the old one there is 4 spots where you poke the plastic to release it.
    • No such thing as regenerative braking on a pure ICE vehicle.     Regenerative braking is the re-capture of energy from electric motors and stores it in the battery pack.  So hybrids, PHEV and EVs have regenerative braking.     What you are seeing is the charging system changing modes is all.  Its likely entering charge mode for some sort of reason is all.  All of the charging modes will be listed below.   As for L10 vs D.  L10 turns off automatic grade braking.  L10 puts you in control of grade downshifts where in D it will automatically do it based on brake pedal position and other factors.  Otherwise L10 and D drive exactly the same aside from that one aspect.    Battery Sulfation Mode The BCM will enter this mode when the interpreted Generator output voltage is less than 13.2 V for 45 minutes. When this condition exists the BCM will enter Charge Mode for 2–3 minutes. The BCM will then determine which mode to enter depending on voltage requirements.   Charge Mode The BCM will enter Charge Mode when ever one of the following conditions are met:   Windshield wipers are ON for more than 3 s. Climate Control Voltage Boost Mode Request is true, as sensed by the HVAC control module via serial data. High speed cooling fan, rear defogger, and HVAC high speed blower operation can cause the BCM to enter the Charge Mode. The estimated battery temperature is less than 0°C (32°F). Battery State of Charge is less than 80%. Vehicle speed is greater than 145 km/h (90 mph) A current sensor malfunction exists. System voltage is determined to be below 12.56 V When any one of these conditions is met, the system will set targeted generator output voltage to a charging voltage between 13.9–15.5 V, depending on the battery state of charge and estimated battery temperature.   Fuel Economy Mode The BCM will enter Fuel Economy Mode when the estimated battery temperature is at least 0°C (32°F) but less than or equal to 80°C (176°F), the calculated battery current is less than 15 A and greater than −8 A, and the battery state-of-charge is greater than or equal to 80%. Its targeted generator output voltage is the open circuit voltage of the battery and can be between 12.5–13.1 V. When fuel economy mode is active, the generator is not charging, only maintaining open circuit battery voltage. The BCM will exit this mode and enter Charge Mode when any of the conditions described above are present.   Headlamp Mode The BCM will enter Headlamp Mode when ever the head lamps are ON (high or low beams). Voltage will be regulated between 13.9–14.5 V.   Start Up Mode When the engine is started the BCM sets a targeted generator output voltage of 14.5 V for 30 s.   Tow/Haul Mode (if applicable) Pressing the Tow/Haul Mode button located on the center stack, the vehicle system voltage is raised and the remote (non-vehicle) battery will be charged. Having the headlamps on will raise the system voltage and if the Tow/Haul button is applied it will not serve any purpose. The voltage is regulated between 13.9-14.5 V.
    • Hello from Australia Just sharing that there is now a way to delete the active shutters entirely with just a plug in module. Opens up tons of room to light bars etc.
    • I have an observation and a question... 1) I watch the voltage closely because I have had to dial in the cut-in/cut-out voltages of the battery separator to my camper.  The "smart" charging drives me nuts.  Anyway, I noticed that when coasting for a while, and especially if lightly using the brakes (though not necessary), the voltage goes up from mid/high-13 volts to mid/high-14 volts.  Then it drops back down after stopping or going again.  Consistently!   The only explanation I can come up with is REGENERATIVE BRAKING!  Well, maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but it's certainly free extra battery charging.   2) Driving on mountain roads I will use L and vary the max gear.  Things straighten out and I end up in L10.  Sometimes I leave it there for a while.  Is there any difference between L10 and D?
