Turn your truck into a tent??

I seen a web site for truck stuff and seen they have tents that fit right in the back of your tent.. Looks pretty cool, they also have a air mattress that fits around your wheel humps too! Has anyone seen these or have one?

Normally, we'd call this a tarp - but to each his own.

I have owned a couple of the "Sportz" tents. One for my old ranger, and one for my f150. Sold the first one when I moved up to a full size truck. Sold the second one because it didn't suit the way I often camp. I find that I like the freedom of being able to drive into town for more food, beer, hangover breakfast, etc. Obviously you cannot drive with a tent in your bed. Take down and set up is very easy, but its still a hassle to pack up your camp. They have a lot of room in them. You can stand up inside if you are not tall, and fit 2 people + personal effects (think of the space in front, and behind the wheel wells). You are going to want an air mattress as ribbed metal is not a soft surface. I recommend not buying the fancy truck air mattress as regular ones are much cheaper, and have you ever found an air mattress that holds air after a few uses?

I just bought a tent and mattress from auto anything. Works great!

What I did with my 2011 is build a frame with 2x2's. They are in a U shape and slide into the pocket holes on the bed rails. I then took a thick camo tarp and attached it to the wood frame. Slides right in and out of the pocket holes and folds flat when not in use. Works awesome with a air bed in back. Cost me about $20 for everything plus a couple hours of time.

depends on what you are doing. I ve seen and heard both stories. If your the type that drive looks for a spot to stay for the night maybe a good idea. But if your talking about traditional camping, probably not as it then leaves you without a vehicle.

I couldn't let you off the hook that easy with a tent in tent. Especially since everyone else was actually helping.
