New RECALL 2014

In USA TODAY GM has recalled the radio. Finally they are going to have to take responsibility for the junk they put out.

I read on CNN Money that 70,000 2014 and 15's silverados are getting recalled for the seat belt chime . Has to do with the base radio .

Here's the paragraph from USA Today covering the truck radio recall.

"The last recall involves radios that may not work in 57,512 pickup trucks. The radio is a safety issue which triggers a recall because the radio also controls the chime to signal seats belts are unfastened or that the key is in the ignition with the driver's side door open. The recall includes 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, and GMC Sierra pickups and 2015 Silverado HD, Tahoe and Suburban and 2015 GMC Sierra HD and Yukon and Yukon XL models. HD stands for "heavy duty." The problem is focused on the "base," meaning cheapest, radio. Technicians will reprogram the radio to make is operate correctly."

What they're leaving out is the radio is completely broken. Not just the chime.

It says the base radio . So I'm guessing most of these are in the work trucks?? WT trim package .

Mine chimes at weird times. Like when I have turned the key off and I am getting out. Or when I open the door.
