Well I finally figured out what was going on with my truck. The dealer confirmed my right front strut is bad.. Truck has 5100 miles on it Z71 crew cab. Damn rancho junk. I was suppose to be driving to Arizona today and now I have to wait. No dealer around has one either. I have to be in Phoenix by Friday is it safe to just drive on it?

Rancho's are NOTORIOUS for pre-mature failure. I suspect a lot of us will be having this problem. After my bumper to bumper warranty is up, I'm installing Bilsteins.

I had a rRancho replaced last month out back, I have just about 9k on my truck now....I'm waiting for the Bilstein 5100's to come out with specification of our year trucks. Even though people have put the 2013 part number on a 2014 without issue, I'd rather wait for the 2014 spec struts/shocks.

So for those of you with early failures, are the dealers replacing them in matched pairs (both front or both rears)? I know I wouldn't want shocks with different mileage on each side of my truck.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did them one at a time. My parents had a jeep with a leaking shock a couple years back and they only replaced one....a year later, surprise surprise! the other one went too and they had to replace it

How did you know you had a bad strut? Noises?

I was going to ask the same question. Are these "bad" struts leaking oil, do they cause thumping or wheel hopping? Wheel hopping and vibration is very common occurrence with completely worn out struts. Sometimes I wonder if some vibration problems are not due to defective struts. Because badly worn \jut struts will cause wheel hop and associated unpleasant vibration, very similar to badly unbalanced wheels. I have experienced this on a car a long time ago.
