That is one slick Camaro dude. Looks great

New control arm should be here tomorrow. Would be nice to get going on that, running out of projects on the truck.

Was looking at the motor trend 4 banger muscle car test. Not only could my 2009 mazda6 I used to have hang with an EgoBoost in a straight line, a 6 cylinder Accord would smoke it.

I'd still take a V8 any day of the week. Nothing beats the sound & torque.

My buddy shot this yesterday with a camera mounted to his rear bumper. That supercharged Camaro is a barrel of fun: :D

Been trying to get all the loose ends done on my Chevelle, right now working on wiring in the electric fans , and finishing the vintage air controls. Still got a long way to go o fire it. Never enough time in the days with other obligations.post-160703-0-20776900-1469983280_thumb.jpg

Was going to buy a car with one of those under the hood 10 years ago. 1970 Buick Riviera GS, the guy restored for a hobby, it was painted the dark cherry color from the 96 Impala SS's, and he had installed the hood scoop from a 1970 Gran Torino GT and made it functional. Agreed on price, the guy wanted to finish the paint(was at 7 coats when I saw it), he called said he was almost done, I told him to call the day it was finished, I was selling my Camaro so hopefully it was gone first. Never heard from him again. Wonder if he kicked the bucket....

Snake eyes, I guess anything is possible. Hopefully he' s still sucking in oxogen though. Maybe he had a change of heart after all the hard work and $$$$ he put into it. You seem to never get out of them what you put into them. I'm gonna have to put some sort of hood scoop on mine when I'm done just for hood clearence so I can shut it. Or buy a new cowl hood. Right now I'm leaning toward cutting in the hood scoop, as a new hood is gonna require new paint. It's an older paint job and I don't think it would match very well if have to go that route. It's like a pearl blue, it kinda changes colors in light. It looks almost black at night. Dark cherry would probably look sweet on that 70 Riviera though.

To me this is an oxymoron. I'm old school, if it ain't a V8, it ain't a muscle car... Sports car maybe, but not a muscle car...

Filled it up. Reads about an eighth off. Put in exactly half a tank but read between 1/4 and 1/2. Accurate when full, but not 40 miles later.

Im 60 and owed a few of those muscle cars, if a car or truck can run 13-14 second 1/4 mile with whatever engine that's muscle. My brother and his son had 6 cylinder Cummings trucks run tens in the 1/4 then drove them to work the next day. Muscle I think so.

Nah...

It's just a fast truck...

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines muscle cars as "any of a group of American-made 2-door or 4-door sports cars with powerful engines designed for high-performance driving."[2] A large V8 engine is fitted in a 2-door, rear wheel drive, family-style mid-size or full-size car designed for four or more passengers. Sold at an affordable price, muscle cars are intended for street use and occasional drag racing.[3][4][5][6] They are distinct from two-seat sports cars and expensive 2+2 GTs intended for high-speed touring and road racing.

That bold and underlined bit right there is why they don't make Muscle cars anymore.

You've got that right! The supercharger for my buddy's Camaro cost what I would've paid for 14 cars back in the day. No sh**! :noway:

A V8 camaro or mustang can be had at a reasonable price, some would say a Chevy SS is reasonably priced for what your getting campared to high horsepower muscle cars back in the day. Remember they would be lucky to get in the low 14s unless you paid big bucks for the rare muscle car that got into the 13s. Buy a Hemi ram two door spend a little money on mods 12s easy, cheap comparably speaking.

Depends on the year. New gen Camaros are all deep into the 5 figure range - same with newer Mustangs. Hardly affordable to the average working stiff. Gotta get into the 90's, and well used, before they become reasonably priced. Neighbor just scored a '92 Mustang with a stroked 5.0. Thing rips. Forgot what he paid, but was well under $5k.

90's ones of both brands are a dime a dozen, as are most of the 80's ones ... but people are getting stupid with 80's pricing now.

On a somewhat related note, just saw 2 S10 Blazers on eBay ... for $15 LARGE, LOLOLOL! I spit my beer out on that one. They'd have to pay me to take that thing. Had my fill of those junks.

I paid $500 for my El Camino ... and then I sold it like an idiot. Biggest regret of my life. :nonod: That thing was capable of mid 14's, but I could never launch it without melting one or both tires. I was content with that. Not enough HP to break expensive stuff, but just enough to keep me entertained.

In 1969, you could get a V8 Camaro for 2900. Avg salary in the us was 5200. It cost 55% of avg salary

In 2016, a V8 Camaro starts over 40k. Avg salary is $51k. 78%

So.....
